Does the Ruger Hawkeye action have the same footprint as the M77 MkII?

Looking at putting a new Hawkeye actiion into an M77 MkII stock, and wondering if the action with the new trigger has the same footprint or not...?

From what I can tell, yes.

I dropped my 375 Ruger into a stock that was bedded for a MK II, the only issue was the barrle channel, trigger fit in fine.

Trigger was fine after I sent it to guntech to smooth it out...

Many people have reported imrpoved triggers, though. I just wasn't one of them

the LC6 i just got on Tuesday is the definition of crisp and under 2lbs.

then again, the old-style trigger on my other Frontier was almost as good with just a touch of creep. judging by the amount of negative press the old Ruger M7 trigger received, there may just be a huge variance in Ruger triggers and ive just been very lucky. if you can, go pick out the rifle in the store. my new Frontier has a factory nick on the outside edge of the crown im not exactly ecstatic about, although being on the outside edge i dont think itll affect accuracy. i most certainly wouldnt have 'picked' it though, just a heads up.

New triggers will smooth out sometimes with some wd40.
