couple friends in BC have them and im considering one...
it seems very reliable, a bit heavier duty/better quality than the 10/22 but still fits all the accessories etc, and there is a world of customization options out there for it....

are they as great as they say? are they really the #1 choice for high quality 22LR carbine with tactical options and feel?

Ive seen some mossberg offerings too but theyre half the price and i dont see as much stuff online for them.

If i want the best .22LR carbine out there, with the most options and best long life reliability...good components and serviceable/easy to clean/repair... is the SR22 really the magic gun i'm told it is?

The fact that the manufacturer is 17 months behind in orders backlogs gives me some indication of their popularity but they arent a current model on the shelf very much any more...

The quality/reliability is identical to the 10/22, as under the add-on parts it's basically a stock 10/22 with a shorter thicker barrel. The only downsides to the SR-22 are weight and price, and possibly manual of arms differences if you're looking for something to mimic an AR.

Hi folks... I too like the Sr22 G11134 and agree with " Pop ". Given that........could there be someone out there to point me in the direction of buying a Sr22 G11134 in Canada ????? Please help.
Thank You in advance.

Check out dlask dr-22 it's a ruger 10/22 clone , no back order and good quality plus you can buy barrelled actions and put what ever stock you want on it .

This. Same gun, few bolt on parts thrown over top. Buy it if you like it or get a standard and customize it the way you want.

i like heavy barrels, better for heat management and last longer,. i tend to buy ammo 5,000 rounds at a time.

i know where i can get SR-22s in canada.. a shop i know has 8 of them and another 10 in transit.
price is good too... only about $620.

ill look into the dlask.

what is the difference in length in barrel between sr22 and 1022?

SR22 is my wife's favourite gun right now. I lik eit so much that I ordered a better barrel for it. And let's be honest it ain't that heavy. Runs well with BC steel lips mags.

i was all set to buy my buddies SR22 (under 500 rounds thru it) but then he found cracks in the receiver with his inspection camera.
Sent it away for warranty replacement... but who knows if they'll get to him within a year.

If I were you I'd go the Troy T-22 route. Seems like a better overall chassis than the SR-22. Apparently lighter than the sr-22 when its all put together as well.

My buddy bought an SR last year when I bought my 1022. We went different ways, he wanted something all done I am on a budget and did a custom build over a few months. We both bought our Rugers for gopher hunting. I wanted something handy and light and module as I have an AR so I have parts to swap around. The SR metal stock receiver stock is pretty decent quality but when you have the heavy barrel, the metal kit, the steel receiver, glass, and rails, the SR22 gets pretty heavy.

I bought an Arch Angel used 556 kit, added a 10" Ruger Charger barrel, swapped out the sliding stock with a cheek rise stock I had, added some rails I had, a tri-grip I had, and added a 20mm low riser rail to add rigidity to the fore arm. The shorter barrel and stock makes mine pretty light and handy 670mm length, far as function goes my 1022 is just as reliable as my buddy's SR22 and here is the weird thing. My Ruger factory 10" Charger barrel shoots just as well as my factory 18.5" barrel or my buddy's SR22, go figure?

The Arch Angel is not as high quality as the metal stocks but it was inexpensive and works well for what I need it to do. :)

But each to their own, I know I can always swap back to the longer barrel and wood stock as I like options. :)

Either I am blind or I can't find a barreled action on Dlask's site. I found a threaded barrel/receiver and lots of other cool stuff, but that's it. I bet if I ask nice they'll sell me one :)

I prefer the T-22 over the SR chassis. Its much lighter and slimmer, the stock is actually inline with the bore and the reciever rail isn't at an abtuse height. The upper and lower halves fit together very precisely and takedown is much faster. They also didn't use the light duty scope base holes to mount anything. The buttstock doesn't rattle and the Troy BUIS it comes with are excellent. Its the only chassis I've found that doesn't feel like a failure. I went with an SR-22 takeoff bbl for a grand total of $15 and haven't looked back.

was wondering because I was going to buy one or the other. So does 10 22 with 18 1/2 barrel and sr 22 modification kit = 28 1/2 total overall length . And SR 22 with 16 " barrel = 26" overall length .?

SR 22 is 33" with stock collapsed. So if you put a regular 10/22 carbine into a Nordic chassis with Ruger 6 pos stock, you' d be around 35.5" OAL.

You *can* get down to a 26" long SR with short bbl / fixed stock combinations as still keep it non-restricted.

If you want to customize it with your own HG, stock, bbl, anyways, it can be a little cheaper going with a 10/22 + Nordic chassis.
