does the SR22 live up to all the amazing hype and reports?

I have the 10 22 with the 18 1/2 barrel . 2 questions. 1 . Can I cut 2 or 3 inches off the the barrel and still be NR? As long as overall length is 26 inches , right. Or do it have to be a factory 16 inch barrel. 2. This is my first time trying this and I have little experience with fire arms, so is this going to be a pain in the azz , for me, to do these mods ?

You can replace the barrel with a commercially made 16" barrel, but you cannot cut it below 18.5" without turning it into a prohibited device.

Not in Canada, but Iron Eagle Tactical ships to Canada without any prob. And you'd probably qualify for free shipping if you get the 2-part Nordic kit and a couple add-ons.

I've ordered from ironeagle before and they don't ship everything on their website, but I'll check them out for sure , thanks. It says in big bold lettering that the Nordic 10 22 kit can't be shipped out side US.

Other than the 10 22 barrel being 2 1/2 inches longer and thinner than the sr 22 barrel , is there any other differences. Jus t wonder about looks and accuracy.

couple friends in BC have them and im considering one...
it seems very reliable, a bit heavier duty/better quality than the 10/22 but still fits all the accessories etc, and there is a world of customization options out there for it....

are they as great as they say? are they really the #1 choice for high quality 22LR carbine with tactical options and feel?

Ive seen some mossberg offerings too but theyre half the price and i dont see as much stuff online for them.

If i want the best .22LR carbine out there, with the most options and best long life reliability...good components and serviceable/easy to clean/repair... is the SR22 really the magic gun i'm told it is?

The fact that the manufacturer is 17 months behind in orders backlogs gives me some indication of their popularity but they arent a current model on the shelf very much any more...
Have you decided yet? I'm going to add a Nordic kit on my 10 22. I also have a715 T that runs great

Ah OK, I didn't know that. I've only ever ordered the 3-part kit (upper, lower, front), and then used my own stock & HG combo.

He said he can't ship the stock because of Itar . The 3 part kit ,hand guard and pistol grip is $280, the same as the whole kit. So $280 plus a stock, and 10 22 , = $700 ish. And you still have the 18 1/2 thin barrel. Maybe just as we'll to buy a SR 22. If you buy the Nordic parts , a 16 inch barrel from Dlask, and a collapsible stock, would there be much difference than a stock SR 22.

Functional wise only needed mod is trigger thanks to the lawyer approved CYA.

Replaced mine with VQ trigger group, expensive at $200+, make mag dump easy on the finger.

Keeping it stock makes resale simple if you get bored with it, mod anything does not retain value.

Yep! I did the comparison math on one of my 10/22 builds and it went like:

Build your own with 10/22 (prices are guesstimates):
10/22: $275
Nordic: $180
Hogue stock & grip: $80
Charger 10" threaded bbl: $100
Kinitech Can: $60
ARFX Stock: $100
Sell off 10/22 take off bbl & wood stock...Maybe $75
Total $725 (****it, you made me add it up! Never realized it cost that much, ha!)

Start with SR-22:
SR-22: $600
HG & grip: $80
Charger bbl: $100
Can $60
Stock $100
SR-22 bbl resell - $100
SR-22 HG & stock resell - $60
Total $780... so, in the same ballpark anyways.

OP sorry if I'm hijacking your thread. I have one more question,do anybody know what the difference would be between the questar $320 16 1/2 stainless steel barrel and dlask 16 1/2 $180 steel bull barrel ? Other tan the price and metal.
