this is vepr 308 super. yes, I know it shares the design with AK, but it's a different rifle and not even look alike. Saiga and AK preatty much the same... but vepr has it's own receiver...Is this still no-no to bring to Canada?

My bet is "prohibited - modified AK action or variants".

Maybe if you paint it pink with white bunnies on top they might consider allowing it. But lets be honest - it is in fact modified ak action. So no.

C68 initially prohibited the Valmet Hunter, but an owner challenged the classification in court and eventually won, so it was reclassified again to non-restriected. If you look at the regs, the Valmet hunter is specifically named as non-restricted. Thanks Greg!

The closest you will ever come to owning that type of rifle is by purchasing the Valmet Hunter or the Valmet M78, specifically named as non-restricted.........hence the cost, approximately 3-4 grand.
