Does this sound hot?

I have owned several 30-06 rifles with 22" tubes that would flirt with 2900 FPS, using 165 grain Partitions, so it's probably OK in your rifle.
I had one Remington 700 with a 24" barrel and a very generous throat that came within a few FS of 3000.
Shot very well at those speeds.
IIRC, I was using W760
The brass stood up well, and I never had any issues with it.
However, It is not a load I would arbitrarily recommend to someone else.

This is actually a pretty commonly used load in the .30-06: 165-grain bullet with 57 to 58.5 grains of one of the 4350s. Many rifles crack 2,900 to 2,950 fps with this load. Mine, however, barely breaks 2,800 with it. That's rifles for you.

Like the others said, if your primers are fine and your extraction after a few loadings of this is OK, then I wouldn't worry about it. One of the good things about H4350 in its current form is that it is relatively insensitive to temperature changes.

Also looked this one up in Hornaby's 8th and for 180 gr they state max gr for H4350 at 55.3 and list velocity at 2700 fps. Superformance is listed at 59.4 but again velocity is 2700 fps. I a novice but would consider that load a bit on the hot side.
 
It has been said on here so many times. Loading charts should be used as a guide, to see how the load is in your rifle.
You tell us the load works fine and your lever action detects no stiffness in case removal.
Why are some saying it is a hot load?
 
I go by manufacturers recommendations, and provide info and comments accordingly ... to be safe. Simply because they do the testing and have the resources/knowledge

I don't doubt some loads hotter than those published can be OK but it is not something I would recommend to others. Personal opinion and safety thing.
 
Guy's I really appreciate all the feedback from you. I'm going to assume moving forward that in my rifle this is a safe load since I worked up to it slowly and saw no issues at 22C. However, I think I'll bulk load up a node I hit at around 2850fps since the recoil is just significantly less and I don't wan't scope eye!

Hornady's latest manual should be renamed Hornady Light. Just for giggles compare Varget data from Hodgdon's website to Hornady's manual. Compare any powder and you'll see what I mean. Not encouraging anyone to go over maximum, but this is sad.

I'm not an expert on reloading, in fact fairly new, and personally feel their is some safety with some published data ...to a point.

I have no concerns with someone exceeding published data loads IF THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. I personally won't recommend loads to others that aren't published by what I feel as crediable sources.

Reason being is that they make take an opinion as correct, and it may not suit thier circumstances and would hate to hear of injury or failure due to my comments
