In a nutshell...
Took new KSG to range yesterday. Blast away with both tubes. Screaming hot shells eject directly into right wrist. Nice big red welt. Pass gun over to my buddy... don't warn him (heh). Same result.

Are you supposed to shoot this thing while chickenwinging your arm out so you don't get smoked, or is this only for people who don't have nancy girl wrists like me? Felt like getting the strap over the wrist 14+1 times in a row.

Any solution besides wearing gloves?

Shot about 50 rounds yesterday with a couple of people. Me? It cuts me up pretty good..... the other guy? Not a scratch.

I hello kitty the crap out of it and call it a day.

NOPE... Here's 15 rounds of 00Buck on clay targets out of my KSG, a LITERAL BLAST to shoot!!!

Now, you can see that I am not keeping my 'chicken wing' right by my side... But it ain't horizontal either... Oh, and as discussed before, "Mac" HATES Kel-Tec, so his reviews are FAR from impartial...

Here's my IMPARTIAL review... For what it's worth... I'm not a pro, just a firearms enthusiast...

I recently picked up my KSG, I've shot over a 125 rounds out of it so far, and at least four buddies have run 15 rounds each through it. Not one issue with right hand wrist getting hurt.

I looked at a video that was taken with me shooting it, and my stance/grip position is pretty well the same Jay (above) uses. With the pistol grip position and what feels to me like a short length of pull, my right arm "chicken wings" out a bit anyway. I tried holding it with my right arm in, but it didn't feel right to me. With the right arm angled out slightly it feels more comfortable and in better control of the gun to me.

Perhaps try keeping your right arm held out slightly to avoid the ejecting shells hitting your wrist.

As a side note, I have not had one single issue (FTF, FTE) with my KSG. It's a compact, fun little shotty. I had a set of Troy BUIS on mine for it's first time out, they worked OK, but I felt a RDS would work better. I picked up an Eotech EXPS 2.0, removed the BUIS and I feel the Eotech works like a gem on this gun.

Mine beats me up, Im lefty but I doubt that matters. I still love it. Wear a sweat band. If I concentrate on chicken winging it im fine, but it feels unnatural. I am in process of dremeling a fold-up aluminum shell deflector to mount on the ejection port (AKA side of butt) to throw the shell away from your wrist. Soon, I will patent it and make millions.

And blackacres, I have an eotech and magpul handstop and a single point sling on mine. Im going to smack a deer with it in shotgun season. Its probably up in my top few favourite toys, so much boom in such a small, light package.

There's been over a thousand rounds through mine. Mostly by me, but also a handful of other guys.......and some kids.

No one has had any problems.
