Dog Food

I bought a 25 lbs bag of dog food , and the dogs refuse to eat it, my fault for trying a new brand. i was wondering if it would make ok bear bait?

Most places will allow you to return the dog food for a full refund if your dog won't eat it.

I've tried and tell you truth it makes for poor attractant, try it with some oil or other smelly addectives but by itself we had poor results


btw, if your dog shy away from dry food try adding a half a cup of broth to soak it up, works wonders on mine

I tried it this year and the bears scooped it all out onto the ground and picked the doughnuts out that were mixed in.

Try putting some olive oil on the food. It's beneficial for their fur/hair.

There is lots of ways to entice a dog to eat kibble but in some cases that creates a whole new problem. Best to find a quality kibble they like. Regardless, put the bowl down and if there are no bites in 5-10 minutes. Pick it up. Eventually that food will have a lot more appeal. A healthy dog will never go hungry.

LOL....Like I said, I've never seen a hungry dog pass up food. They will all eat eventually but we do tend to spoil our pets....myself included.

Yup, save up your kitchen drippings for a week or so and mix it into the kibble. for an extra kick add a good dollop of honey! You'll have to beat the bears off with a stick ;-)

My breeder fwiw swears the best food is eukanuba. He made me swear to not feed my pup anything else! She'll be eating better than me.

Yeah I hear ya...my lab can be quite the fussy eater
