Hi,

Just wondering from your guys' experiences, which US magazines work best in the Norinco 1911 handguns.

I was thinking Wilson 47D, Metalform, Mec-Gar, and Chip McCormick.

Also, does the follower make a big difference? I've been told to get a GI-style magazine with the flat follower for reliability. I shoot 230 gr FMJ ball.

Lastly, how do you guys find the OEM Norinco 7 round mags holding up? Any problems?

I have several of the Norc 45s and use both Norinco and Chips. Work fine. So far as i know all the name brands work fine. I have seen some real cheap off-shore made ones that might be suspect.

I have some DLASK 8 round mags and they work great in my Norc 1911. The Norc mags that came with the gun were unreliable right from the start.

'themikea' beat me to it!

I have several Dlask 8 round mags, they work fine in all my 1911's. They are well constructed, the last ones I purchased ran me about $20.00 each, so good value IMO.

I have a couple of old chip mcormick 8 rounders that i use in mine with no problems.I haven't tried the norinco mags so couldn't say about them.

I use 8 round Chip McCormick Power Mags in mine. Wilson and Tripp also both make well-regarded magazines.

Provided that the gun is properly set up, it should work well with most quality magazines.

Gov't 1911 mags will work in Norinco Commanders right? Do the 8 and 10 rounders also fit? The frame should be full size on a Commander I've read.

I bought the "SAM" mags from Wolverine, when they showed up, they had ACT-MAG on them & are made in Italy. They work just fine in my Norinco Commander. I like 'em!

Cheers
Jay

100% reliability with the original 7-rd Norinco mags in my Norc 45. Same with 8-rd Chip McCormick Power Mags.

No way to tell if any in particular will work with your particular 45. You'll just have to try. Good news is that you could probably make money on them if you need to resell them on the EE.

Anything but the Norinco mags.

Along with being unreasonably sharp, one of the 7 round magazines that came with my Norinco only holds 5 rounds.

I really like the ACT magazines of the various brands I've tried they are by far my favourite.
