Dominion 22lr Ammo

recently inherited 3500 rounds of dominion 22lr. all came boxed in clear 50 round packs although there is no wrapping on the individual packages stating the grains or any other information. The only markings on them are the "D" stamped on each individual shell case, each package is closed and there are two sets of 500 sealed in a clear wrapping. the ammo was stored in a steel military ammo case. I inspected the rounds and there is no sign of any corrosion.

I was just wondering about these rounds, are they desirable?, how much would each box go for? any good in a semi?

Dominion was/is good, run-of-the-mill ammo. Believe it or not, in the 70's, it was not quite considered the equal of Remington ammo, but I can almost bet you that it's killed more bottles, cans, grouse and rabbits in Canada than probably all other brands combined. I can't remember ever owning or trying a .22 that didn't like it. I'm pretty sure it will compare quite well to CCI and Federal, and be better than modern Win or Remmy. Check, though, some collectors may give you a fair bit more for those unopened boxes than the equivalent price of CCI or other mid-range ammo, so you could turn that 3500 rounds into a much larger stockpile of .22.
 
I had a old coffee can full of them that was found in my Grandfathers shop no lid just an old rag on top of them. I figured the boxes must have been damaged. Every round went off just fine and they were a lot more consistent then the bulk federal's I used to shoot. I wish I had more.
 
I've got a couple of boxes still in the original packaging that I've been keeping for nostalgia. I used to buy it from the local hardware and convenience stores as a kid and then head down to the beach to shoot cork net floats and the odd empty liquor bottle or flask. Those were the days! :)

If my memory serves me right, back in the early-mid 70's, we were paying almost the same price for .22 ammo as we are today in bulk packs.
