So my 8.5 Grizzley showed up today (thanks CanadaAmmo) and the need to tinker in me is looking at this and imagining options. What are you guys using for stocks and everything. I'm thinking mostly buttstock right now, but let me know what's good, and what's worked for you guys. By all means lets see some pictures of these things. I haven't seen a 8.5 grizz pic thread so let's start one.

Custom shortened Speedfeed II. I like it better than the Hogue (slimmer/lighter and matches the forend).

Neither of these are mine, but represent two of my favorites from the Shorty Shot Gun Pic Thread. They are my personal inspiration for getting a Grizzly..hope these guys don't mind me posting their photos (let me know if you do and they will be removed).

This one belongs to XRAYGUY.

And this one belongs to Until the Angels Fall and is actually a 12.5, but it is very well done.

Nice, I can't decide if I wanna throw a pistol grip style on or the standard kind. That 12.5 looks slick.

I really don't like regular shotgun stocks. I am so used to a pistol grip that switching back to a regular shotgun stock just feels downright weird. My hand feel awkward and find it difficult to hold a consistent grip.

I love the look of that 12.5" grizz,

I posted this in another thread but never heard an answer. Has any one put on a Mesa tactical stock adapter and a 6 position tube with magpul stock on an 8.5 grizzly?

I've been wondering the same thing, or at least any collapsable styles that work. I'm suprised more people don't have pictures of they're shorties dressed up on here

I don't have an 8.5" DA anymore but I do have a 12.5 Wingmaster with a DA barrel. I have an Mesa Tactical Urbino stock on it. I love this stock, its a pistol grip stock with a short LOP, limbsaver recoil pad and an adjustable cheek piece (which I find very handy since I have an Aimpoint mounted on my SG).

I like the factory forend on my 8.5" grizz, something new would pretty cool too! I'm thinking of putting on some wood from an old wingmaster or police. I haven't seen it done on the short 8.5" version. It looks good on the 12" and 14" guns, I would imagine it would be badass!

^nice. ive wanted to try modding a standard 870 police forend for my 8.5, and going for the oldskool look.

the main thing holding me back is the hand slippage issue. the stock 8.5 forend is quite well designed and built - but even with the huge lip on the front people with large hands come dangerously close to blowing off their thumbs. im concerned that eliminating the lip entirely (such as with a modified 870 forend) would make it pretty dangerous to fire.

for anyone that has been wondering: the hole in the front of the 8.5 Grizzly forend is there for inserting a stick with a marshmallow -- for instant roasting via muzzle flash.
