Anyone have any experience with these ? Canada ammo has the lower for 150 and complete package for 500 . I'm very tempted but can't seem to find any reviews .

Yes, Dominion Arms is the branding CanAm applies to Norinco products.

They are what they are: cheap, functional ARs. The fit and finish often leaves a little to be desired. Sometimes they aren't *quite* in spec and replacement hand guards or accessories can take a little fitting.

That said, they're inexpensive, and you can get a lot of ammo for the difference in price...

I think I'm gonna go for the 20" barrel version I will update

The "retro" version? Make sure you're aware it's "old-school", and has a built in carry handle. That makes it very hard to use any kind of optic.

The 14.5" C8 style has a removable carry handle, so you can use optics easily. As Chinese rifles neither can go into the USA, so the 14.5 isn't a disadvantage.

With the 20" version, if you want to put either triangular (For the Viet Nam Look) or "Normal" round handguards on it youwill need to change the forward handguard retainer to the triangular style. The hardest part of that is getting the front sight pins removed but ir can be done and the look is better.

The new version of the rifle comes with a 1/9" twist barrel so it will shoot anything you put in it. Be mindful however, it has a very light thin barrel and sling tension is critical if you are planning on shooting out past 200m. Otherwise, great and dependable guns.

There is an A2 style 20 inch barrel flattop upper out there, but many would rather buy from Canam than Lever.

On the A1, you can install A2 handguards NO RIFLE MOD by trimming the handguards. Works well. Done it myself.

Is there a reason the 10.5" version is $200 MORE than the 20" barreled one? Supply and demand? I'm tempted to wade into the AR world (shot a few short barreled ones and they were damn fun) and the Norc copy seems like a good option without risking a lot of dough.

Fit is really good, finish is paint, which is each to touch up. Some replacement parts may not fit easily. Accuracy and reliability is good. On the EE for they go for $600 :).
No reason not to get one.

I have one of the DA556 lightweight 20" rifles, with the 1/9 twist barrel. I replaced the weird ribbed handguards with an A2 set, after a bit of trimming. Also added a collapsible stock. No issues with it, shoots well with 55gr ammo.
