Dominion Arms Backpacker Bead Sight

Regular
Hey guys, got my order today, shipped very fast. Along with it I got a free backpacker for the boxing day/week special. I've noticed that the bead sight on it seems to be quite noticeably off to the left. I'm just wondering if this is common. I'm defenitly not complaining as it was a free gun, plus it's a chinese gun that is rather cheap, so defects such as this are expect. I'm just wondering if this is a common thing with these guns. I guess in the end, it's a short barreled shotgun anyway so I'm not really expecting much accuracy out of it to begin with(just a fun gun to mess around with in the bush), it's just the bead on the end of the barrel is no where near the center.

Same here. I had to file it down. Centered though. Came with a small crack on the stock too. Didnt shoot it yet...hope it holds up...kinda disapointed, especially that for 50$ more, you can get an H&R....not 13" barrel but still...

My buddy lost his bead while shooting slugs. Any idea what the size of thread is on the bead?

My bead sight was bent to the left, but who cares as it blew off after a few slugs anyhow. Fiber sight is on it's way now. Well the backpacker is certainly no Benelli but it is a ton of fun to shoot!

My bead was centered but protruded into the barrel too. sanded down and good to go. Has anyone found a good way to install a sight on theirs?
Ditto on mine. I installed a TruGlo Shotgun Glo-Dot. Snapped right in without having to removing the bead. Came with 2 green and 2 red rods. Works great!

clean and check your barrel too, mine have deep helicohidal mark inside.
if your bead protrude grind it down.
try to clean your mechanism real good, they are dirty as a crack house from the factory and prone to lock-up/jam.

Well took er to the range today, first slug through sent the bead flying. Couldn't find it. Can I get a replacement bead or will I have to go with something that snaps on the barrel?

I doubt that they have spares, anyhow easy to fix, just get a small brass screw about the same diameter as the threaded hole, screw it in (the brass screw will self tap to the steel barrel thread if not too big) and file it to shape.

Also make sure you file flush the end inside the barrel, so it does not protrude or you will lose it again.

Shim the hardware that holds the foregrip on. Lots of trial and error there. I used bits of stripper clips, til I got it to lockup lol

mine is not from the boxing day deal but it suffers from light strikes of the firing pin, cleaned it and the same issue, everybody loves them but they are a bit of a waste of time, mine shoots 1 foot to the left at 15 feet, terrible pattern too

I noticed on mine the brass sight was sticking into the barrel and thought it might be fine but followed someone's advice on here and filed it down with a round chainsaw file till it was flush with the inner barrel, glad I did I think. 10 slugs,10 buckshot and about 30 field loads all 2 3\4 and no problem with the bead. I have a lot more play in the gun now than when new and noticed when the slugs and buckshot were fired the forward grip would fly off, need some adjusting there, no big problems I guess especially considering the price of the gun,I'm happy!

Mine has the grip fallin g off all the time as well. I would like to hear more details about the shimming as well.

Mine has some play in the action, I fixed it by lightly tapping the face of the locking lug on the barrel with a small hammer. A few taps and test until you get it just right, doesn't take much. Just wan to slighlty raise the edge that locks into the action. Mine locks up real tight now, makes the gun feel less cheap.
