Wow , thats impressive. Would have never guessed that the US could turn them out cheaper than China. I guess that's a good example of an economy of scale.

Its a better example of a US market overloaded with guns and manufacturers cutting prices to reduce inventory and improve cash flow. With no immediate threat of gun controls being implemented in the US, the panic buying has stopped for guns, but manufacturers kept churning product out at high levels.
We occasionally benefit when they have oversupply/overruns.
lol The Norinco DA556's are by far as good and/or better guns as far as reliability and being built to go the distance than whatever bottom barrel North American low budget AR's.
They aren't beautiful. So if you can get over that, you can pick one up used for as low as $450 and run ammo through it until you're bankrupt and it's going to keep on going.
To say the Norinco AR's are junk and not worth the price they are at just because you can get a US made one for $250 more is ignorant. I've owned Colts and Armalites and two Norinco AR's over the years and put ungodly amounts of ammo through all of them.
The Chinese make a lot of questionable items but AR15's are not one of them.
^^^^ Agreed I have had a several Norinco firearms and have never had an issue. And when they show up cheap on the EE because the finish isn't great, they're hard to turn down. Hard steel and chrome lined barrels in the AR's. I can however understand wanting to purchase made in North America. But the Norinco hate Kool-Aid is real.
If you want a light profile 20 inch chrome lined barrel for an SLR build, and you want a 1 in 12 twist for light weight varmint bullets, there aren't that many options except for a Norc/DA.
