So I find myself very interested in the 12.5" Grizzly lately but I'm curious about ejector replacement. The Grizzly is supposed to be a carbon copy of the Remington 870, and the 870 has an ejector that is plug welded into the receiver requiring the ejector to be replaced by Remington. Does the Grizzly share the same flaw? Or is the ejector user replaceable like the Mossberg 590? If its not then I'm thinking that could get expensive having a gunsmith replace the ejector and ruining the finish on the receiver. If it were an 870 the receiver would be refinished before being sent back from Remington if I understand correctly.

The extractor is in the bolt and takes less than a minute to replace. The ejector is the spring that is riveted to the receiver, and it can be replaced without replacing the rivets if you are careful, but usually you have to do the rivets too.

Replacing an ejector can be done yourself if you are moderately handy, but the gun does need to be re finished, but it isn't something that is too common. Most 870's go their entire life without needing it, but yes it does occasionally happen
