Dominion Arms Grizzly

Which one?

Mag fed sometimes have feeding issues, but the tubefed ones are pretty solid.

I have the 8.5 and had to do a little work to get it the way I wanted it, but nothing too serious.

I had issues ejecting cheap, low brass, shells, but polishing the chamber with some steel wool wrapped around a 12 guage brush, and a bunch of oil has helped so it rarely occurrs.

I also had the occassional she'll get hung up on the bottom of the barrel when feeding so I ramped it slightly and polished it with the dremel, and it now functions perfectly.

I'm pleased, but if you don't like to tinker you may not be.

I have a mag fed. I like it! Definitely fed much more reliably (99% now) after 100 - 200 shots or so. The mags themselves like to be broken in too. I found that loading 4 worked a lot better than 5 until the mag/spring were broken in. Definitely ensure when loading your mags that the shell is pushed right back against the back wall of the mag too.

I've had 2 of the 12.5" tube fed model. The first ran like a champ right from the get go. I ended up giving it to my son (where it still resides). I bought myself a second one (after missing the first that I gave away). It did not run as fine..had to do some polishing/lubing to get it running nice on the 2.75" shells...it still chokes a bit on the 3" sometimes. The more I shoot it the better it's getting. I added a Knoxx stock and it tames the recoil somewhat...still love the flame from 3" magnums...AWESOME!

I've got a 12.5" that I got when the first batch of them landed in country way back in 2008

I've fired easily 30k rounds through it now, NEVER had a failure to fire but had few failures to eject, maybe 20 in total.

I did some filing on the inside of the gun and now it is super slick to shoot and always 100% functioning.

Been very abused, thrown down on rocks when fishing, fallen in the river few times and out of canoe and sank little bit.

Still no rust at all on it and now I've painted it up with Krylon paint.

Best $300+ tax I have ever paid for a shotgun, I love it more then my actual Remington 870's.

Gun has been all over BC and into the Yukon in all types of weather, always performs great.

3" shells used to stick but i did a little filing around the breach and now they pop right out fine.

I like my 8.5" a lot, although I have a feeling the 12.5" might be a better idea, what with the 4-round magazine and ability to use standard barrels... I agree they can be a little rough, and some careful smoothing of rough edges and whatnot is probably a good idea. However based on my single experience, they are basically solid durable guns, IMHO.

I find the finish on them is better than the newer Remington finish which seems to rust overnight if not very well oiled. It's rougher but it seems to handle the elements better. I've got the 12.5" and haven't had any issues. My favorite 870 type shotguns are the old school Remingtons from when they were actually made in America and made to a higher standard than the current 870. I digress for the money you probably won't find a shotgun as good as the DA.

CanAm has a couple 12.5 inchers with no butt stocks for a discounted price if you were gonna do an AR adapter, or aftermarket stock.

I went with the 8.5 cuz I already have useful shotguns, and just wanted something cool as hell for the quad trails and camping.

I have had a 12.5" tube fed for close to 9 months now, I've only put maybe 500 rounds through it but it has run superbly so far.
No FTF or FTE
My only complaint is that it seems heavier than my BPS stalker with a 28" barrel.

I have had the tube fed 12.5 for over a year and have put *at least* a couple thousand rounds through it. Flawlessly. Never a single issue and it's eaten anything I've run through it.

Very solid little shotgun, hyper reliable. It's like a work truck, not the prettiest, but has a great personality ;)

I would be interested in getting one with the 12.5" barrel I think. I assume it conforms to our less than wonderful gun laws?

you bet the 8.5's are non restricted as well

my 8.5 has been to hell and back, it gets tossed around rides behind the seat, on the quad, on the sled and keeps kicking, a 12.5 is 100 times more practical but nothing shoots a fire ball and a slug quite like the 8.5 (although there is a 6 inch 870 i havnt managed to get my hands on yet)
