Dominion Arms Grizzly

Another +1 for the 8.5". Functions great and is fun to shoot. It is really loud and produces a nice big flash :)

Problem I found with the HP9 is their very soft barrel. Not saying it will explode, but when you close the bolt too hard on an empty chamber for many times, you will soon find that the extractor slot will deform into the chamber, which is when the shell sticking nightmare begins. Don't ask how I know.

I got 12,5", tubular mag. Probably the best $250 i spend. It was sold at big discount due "sticky pump". After cleaning it is functioning with no problem.

I have norinco 8.5 inch(same as grizzly). Awesome gun never misfired or jammed. Very very loud, seems loudest with hv 3" steel shot. Great little shotty. Did a mod to hold 3 2 3/4 shells in tube. Shave follower down, weld two new notches (closer to end) in tube for ratchet cap, done. Ati pistol stock 6 position, measures about 27" closed. Best little toy for the money!!

i have the 8.5'' loud like you wouldn't believe and when you shoot 3" slugs out of it you can feel the heat from the giant fireball that comes out of the barrel. its a nice gun to play around with but you can tell its made in china, just feels cheap even though its like $400 lol.

Well the Grizzly arrived today. Gonna clean it tomorrow. Sure seems good and solid and handles well. Thanks to SFRC for a quick shipping job. I did notice that these guns don't come with any kind of manual. I assume the procedures for an 870 would be the same??

Thanks

I just got my 8.5" too. I was a fence sitter about the norinco shotguns, but I am really happy with it. IMO the quality and feel are on par with my mossberg 500.
Ran about 20 shells through it today and everything cycled smoothly.

I had a 18" Grizzly Mag fed.
It was an awesome shotgun.
Even the fit and finish on them was great.

Nay sayers are just Remington snobs lol

It was a reliable beast of a shotgun. Even had the side folding stock. Just bad ass all around. And the price is too good to argue with.

I have one with 12.5" barrel.

Here's my honest opinion:

- It's heavy. My Maverick 88 with 18.5" barrel is lighter to carry, and holds one more shell.
- Since the barrel is so short, you can't put a pistol grip on it or it becomes restricted.
- Maverick 88 with pistol grip has smaller overall size and is lighter. (Grizzly = 31", Maverick = 28")
- If you're carrying it for animal protection, shorter and lighter is better, Maverick wins.
- Maverick 88 is $225 new. Pistol grip for it is what, $20?
- Maverick is better quality.

If I was carrying something for bear defense, I would get the cheapest pump action that can have a pistol grip on it and still be over 26" so it's not restricted. That's the Maverick. It's cheaper, lighter, still legal with a pistol grip making it smaller overall, and you won't have to explain 500 times to every damn Fudd that thinks your 12.5" barrel is illegal.

I only bought the Grizzly because it was a novelty with the short barrel. I'd sell it if anyone is interested.

Are the mavericks clones of the 870 too? Looking at the slug version.

No, there are made by Mossberg. Pretty much the same as the 500.

Basically the same as a Mossberg 500, but with a plastic trigger instead of metal and a cross bolt safety instead of the slider on top. The fore grip is slightly different as well
