What do u guys think about the outlaw? I just grabbed one but havent shot it yet. Im guessing its gonna tear my arm off!!! lol Im pretty sure its illegal in the states but dont hold me on it. If it is then...HA they get the machine guns lol we get the sawed off double barrel!!!! (not really sawed off, its manufactured that way.) I also heard its bad to shoot both sides at once..its bad for the action or somethin. Is that true? Is that for all double barrels?

Fired 2 3/4 " shot shells & 2 3/4 " slugs from mine.....2 dozen shot shells + a dozen slugs.....the recoil was remarkably humane.....probably because of the rather large heavy wooden stock.

My ear drums are about 1/4 " apart somewhere inside my head because I didn't wear plugs........won't make that mistake again!

I read posts on some threads complaining of the fore end falling off after each shot.......nothing fell off of my Outlaw ever.......everything is nice & tight.

Accuracy.........the gun is guaranteed to group slugs in the same township.;)

Seriously..........my slugs fired from both barrels (separately) @ 10 yds. were in a 4 " group that centered 6" up and a foot to the left of the point of aim.

I did not fire 2 barrels at once nor do I intend to.

Great home/bush/on the road self defense weapon because it is compact, fast loading, fast swinging, fast shooting (2 shots), won't (can't ) jam & can be disassembled & carried in a pack sack or suitcase & it is non-restricted (for now...... if the Libs get back in who knows). With slugs it will knock down any North American predator including the large bears (Grizzly, Kodiak, Polar).

And NO I'm not going to submit range photos, fingerprints & a DNA sample or signed affidavits from the town council to prove that I really have an Outlaw......you either accept my word or you don't.

Not sure what a "foreend" refers to but my son bought one (30 year old kid) and fired both barrels at the same time. He said is was ok but I don't think he's gonna do it again.

I remember there was a clip/latch under the barrel about half way to the muzzle that was loose and hung down...is this the foreend failure?

Ted

Don't expect a strong kick. It is much the same as any 12 gauge. I didn't try to discharge both barrels together. I don't think my fingers could get to both triggers at the same time.

When I put together my Outlaw I noticed the wood on the inside of the foreend (the surface touching the barrels that you dont see when assembled) looks to be rotting, like little chips of wood falling off the thing. I FREAKED!!!! But once you put the firearm together you dont see it. Is this normal on these things or should I be bringin it back or somethin???

Mine was the same, it's just rough finishing as best as I can tell. They certainly didn't waste any time sanding the inside of the forearm.

If you want to just do something dumb for kicks, go ahead and shoot both barrels at the same time. But remember that it could damage the gun or you, not altogether likely from doing it once, but definitely don't make a habit off it. I have not fired both at once.

Oh ok now I dont feel so bad. If it really starts bugging me i'll give er a little bit of a sanding. I guess i'll just drop the shooting both shots at once idea....Gut feeling. Unless someone else wants to shoot my outlaw with both shots at once and i'll watch from a far hahahahaa. I keep thinking of that saying....."curiousity killed the cat" lol But in my head it goes "curiosity killed the Matt when he shot both sides of his new double barrel shotgun and the thing blew up!!! lol I'll stop now.

I'm thinking about picking one of these up. A cheap, double-barrel shorty... can't complain there! Also, I find it hilarious that people are complaining about it's accuracy. The weapon seems more likely to have been designed as a CQ AoE weapon. Especially if you snap off both shells simultaneously.

:D
Good close range packsack gun for prospectors & bush workers in Ontario where it's a hassle getting a Wilderness ATC for a handgun & there are lots of black bears.

Accuracy? (you're kidding:rolleyes:): In the accuracy department beyond ten feet the gun would properly be classified as a NOISE MAKER.

My younger brother, (I hate him) has figured out the hold-under, and can nail water bottles at 25+ yards, (yes, those little single serving ones) with .690 roundball slugs repeatedly. He's a shooting newbie, though we both shot airguns fanatically as kids and doesn't even have his PAL, but shoots my double better than me.

both barrels shoot to the same POI, about 4 feet high at 30 yards with my slugs. Shot is pretty much right on.

isn't that a kick in the nuts?

I do a lot of overnight (several nights in a row) camping out on prospecting & fishing forays in the wilderness of Northern Ontario & the Outlaw has several advantages:

1) the gun can be disassembled into 3 pieces that are invisible when in my prospector's pack sack and "out of sight out of mind" is the best policy where Ontario cops & Conservation Officers are concerned and they won't hassle you unless somebody sees a gun......and I'll make sure they don't. Most modern day cops & Conservation Officers are lost if they can't see the "cherries" on top of their cruisers, pick ups or SUVs so once you're past the treeline they're no longer an issue.

**If it becomes absolutely necessary to "pop" an attacking bear make it "go away" quietly like in "what black bear:confused:?". That's where that fading baby boomer memory of mine comes in handy again.;)

2) the gun has a Sesame Street Simple mechanism that can't jam or freeze up if not over lubricated & can be field assembled, loaded & fired quickly in the dark with a little practice.

3) unlike a .44 Mag handgun the 12 gauge Outlaw has enough power to stop any charging North American predator including the great bears dead in its tracks and I'm sure that if an enraged predatory Blackie or Grizzly is ripping into my prospector's tent with the intent of making me it's human hot dog takeout order of the day/night that Chinese Cheapo $200 Outlaw in my hands loaded with slugs will look PURTIER THAN A PURDEY.

both barrels shoot to the same POI, about 4 feet high at 30 yards with my slugs.

I'm putting a detachable nite lite assembly on mine and the optimal design range for survival sustenance/bear protection mode use of the gun will be 10 yards or less.

The gun isn't purty or accurate but my chances of being the one to walk away from my next midnight bear encounter of the predatory kind will be immeasurably increased with the Outlaw lying beside me in my 5 Star.

I always wondered about this? Would this be bad for the shotgun?

I don't see why it would be bad. Shooting involves two moving parts, the hammer going down and pin going forward. It's really two independant guns in a way, stuck to one buttstock.

Good point!

That's a good fail safe mechanism because if one barrel fails or you break a hammer off you still have the other independent shooting mechanism........another good survival/self defense feature of the Outlaw.

The more I think about it the more I realize the DA Outlaw is the ideal wilderness camp self defense gun.

Dirt cheap, dumbed down simple action, dependable & "throw it in the pickup - no fancy paper work required" legal...........can't beat them apples !
