Curious to know if anyone else has had issues with the Dominion arms P762? All reviews were flawless, all my norc's i own are flawless. So i got this one in the mail today and it totally sh*t the bed. I found the return spring way to weak, 50% of the rounds would fail to load. I ran 350 rds thu her hoping it would work in a little. never happened.

just the guy i was looking for. hand cycling 50% of the rounds due to the fact the return spring aint gots no jam to it. just not enough umph to get a round up the feed ramp. I was gonna start polishing slid and feed ramp and shim the spring but i might just give you fine folks a call tomorrow and see about replacing this one.

I find that my P762 doesn't like milsurp ammo. Often have to double strike the primers. Also, got a steel case stuck in the chamber and had to bash it out with a rod from the end of the barrel.

I have had no issues with the S&B or norinco copper washed ammo.

x2 on the czech surplus I have .It has a harder primer I heard and thats why it doesnt work well in mine.Lots of FTF. I picked up a box of S&B yesterday to try and a Serpa holster for a Sig 226 and hope it fits.

I really like the pistol but I have had 2 issues. One major, one minor. The major issue was that one of the main springs inside the grip would periodically leave the intended holding position and free float. This caused the trigger and hammer not to reset. I'm considering filing a small notch in the grip housing to better hold the spring in position.

Second issue was the Ginormus grip. I have big hands (large to XL glove) and it was still to big to fire single action. Without canting my hand substantially. This was fixed by cutting the rubber finger grips away and installing a replacement piece thin grip tape. I can now just fire the pistol in SA without modifying my grip.

All that said I would like to reiterate that I really like this pistol. Fabulous shooter. Great accuracy and the price was INCREDIBLE! Thanks again CanAm

Hey
not sure about the spring issue...when you first got it before you stripped it down to clean it did you notice anything? maybe after stripping it down something went wrong...just asking
aslo don't use coated surplus ammo. My half crate that I had didn't like my TT33 nor P762. The P762 the casing would get stuck in the barrel and on the extractor leaving the slide jammed halfway. Took a sks cleaning rod to jam it out via the end of the barrel
Doesn't state in you post if you fired it yet..maybe it having issues cause its like an untamed horse ...take it to the range and let her run wild...(one round at a time for safety)

Another issue I have with it is that trying to fit my finger into the trigger guard when the hammer is in the forward position is difficult.
I have to wedge my finger into position as the trigger is too close to the guard or have the hammer to the rear before inserting my finger .
The Serpa holster I bought fits fine.

guess i didn't state in the original post i fired it (350rds) with the norinco copper wash ammo. Nothing went wrong after i originally stripped it down to degrease it. went to the range and it functioned well except for the fact 40-50% of the rounds had to be "assisted" to load. would eject properly then the next round would get hung up on the feed ramp, by taping the slid forward (literally a half pound of pressure) would assist the next round to load.

I just assumed this pistol was designed to shoot cheap surplus.
A modern design that shoots cheap surplus.
Is this not the case?

No complaints with CanAm s warranty. They have always been Stellar when it comes to any issues. I do love my DA 762 pistol!

I believe the issue with the surplus ammo is that the primers are so hard due to age and lacquer. With the recent increase in surplus it's not that cheap anymore. I buy the new norinco stuff for not much more money and have had great luck.

AMMO UPDATE

The 100 rounds of Sellier and Bellot ammo I bought to test worked fine but it is $20.50 a box plus tax ...the empty brass was ejected about 15 yards to my right , I had the last round in the mag fail to feed 3 times . When this occurred I racked the action each time and the round chambered and fired fine . Might be a mag issue ??
As well it is hitting around 5-6 inches left ...How do you move the rear sights as I tried with a punch but it wouldn't budge ??
I like the size feel of the pistol so overall I am getting happier with my purchase . I am disappointed the Czech ammo I bought wont cycle thru it .
I cant get the norinco ammo to try locally so I will pick up a few hundred of the S&B to cycle through it.

Hey
I ordered from http://www.marstar.ca/dynamic/product.jsp?productid=86626
so far half way finished the can no issues at all except running out of ammo.
Did you clean the mag aswell I took mine apart and soaked it and just alittle oil to keep it from rusting...so far as I stated not one problem except need more ammo..
I find that both my P762 and my TT33 are ammo fussy so my try small amounts of surplus to find out which one runs best...as I stated before when I purchased my TT33 I go a full case of ammo from Epps when they had it but it was the coated stuff and the TT33 would jam up upon feeding the next round, needed a little tap on the slide to complete the cycle..my P762 didn't like it either..got half case of marstar stuff and both guns ran like the wind .
Trial and error till you find what works but surplus it the way to go compared to the last stuff you got $27.99 box around my area...ouch almost as bad a 45acp...
Good luck
Glenn.
