well I have had this rifle for maybe two months and have put maybe 400 rounds through it. not a lot by any means. one day I decided to de a bullet test with the Barnes bullets. so I fired a round of into some antifreeze jugs. when examining the round I noticed that the rifling was not a sharp or deep as all my other rifles. you can defiantly tell there is rifling in the bore bit it doesn't seem as defiant and many other rifles I have owned. in this the case with all norinco m14 type rifles?? this is my first m14 type rifle so I am fairly new to this platform. also my first norinco. any help would be greatly appreciated!
thanks.

Till someone more helpful comes along I will just add that I have never examined a fired bullet from a M305 so I can't compare with your findings.
Sluging the barrel as I suggested will at least tell you the bore dimensions of your barrel.
Do you have any OO buck you can push through the bore?
Do you have the tools and ability to measure the resulting deformed slug?

How does your rifle shoot anyways?

Is there an actual issue beyond your curiosity about the recovered bullets rifling tracks?

Try a standard bore guage. Just stuffed mine in to the last new take-off norc barrel on my bench and it was +0.5ish.

I don't really have any tools to measure the fired bullet. it shoots ok probably 5" at 100 yards. nothing spectacular at all.

Slugging your bore is the fastest, easiest and most sure way to determine if anything is wrong. Nobody can tell you if something is wrong based on your description. A local gunnut or gunsmith can have the job done in 2 minutes then you'll know exactly what your bore dimensions are.
