Dominion Arms Socom 18 ....wearin WOOD

Question to the OP:
Did all of the metal parts transfer in from your Norinco plastic stock? I know these Boyd's stocks come bare (no metal parts).

Also, was it easy to fit the action to the stock?

Cheers

Agreed, this looks mint. Maybe a detailed post on what you did? I'm trying to piece it all together, but an easy 'how to' would be awesome. I think I'm finally sold on one of these now.

If you're talking about the Socom I would suggest buying now. Last I checked they only have 3 left. . . don't forget to add the 1000 rounds as well to feed her.

OP, you just had to show how good it looks with the wood stock didn't you? Now you've got me wondering if I can order a second to put a wood stock on, when the first hasn't even arrived. . . not to mention the wife still doesn't even know about it.

Looks awesome dressed up like that! Will look EVEN BETTER laying across a deer after a successful hunt!

HH, you are making me regret holding off on a SOCOM from CanAM... Maybe there is room for another M14 in the stable... Ugh, the torture! HA HA

Cheers

They change over well with a bit of fitting the wood, really easy, just be patient. All metal parts transfer over perfectly, again go slow taking the stock liner out or you will strip the small round srews

This should get those sitting on the fence moving on ordering one of these babies, boyds walnut ($150 landed) , M1a.ca spring guide.....some will like this, others will not

All that matters is Canada Ammo rocks!!! And I fricken love it!!!!!!!!!!!

If I haven't just bought the archangel precision stock, I would have bought that wood stock in a heart beat. It looks amazing!

I will receive both the stock and rifle next week, can't wait to see how it looks in real life.

what is the quality like on the boyd stock (this one and in general), because it's not the first time I see some nice looking stocks from them.

Now you've gone and done it!
I held off on this for weeks. I was able to resist, to be strong, to be responsible.
Not only am I in for a new rifle, I am also going to have to pay for a wood stock and ammo.
Hope you are quite pleased with yourself!

2 left. Perhaps you should buy yourself a second one.
Have at it.

Seriously though. Great looking rifle. As soon as they came out I wondered what they would look like dressed up a little more traditional.
Thanks for being Devils advocate on this one.
Maybe someday I can return the favor and help increase your credit card debt!

Did you make sure to add the 1000 rounds to the package? Still get the SOCOM and 1000 rounds for 849.99 even though the deal isn't listed anymore.

MUAHAHAHAHA

Nice pictures!

Two questions:

Did you order the Boyds from Boyds, and was it recent, say in the last two months? Or did you get it from a Canadian recently? Or another dealer entirely?

Is the front iron sight, the front blade, is it below...or above the height of the protective "ears" ?

Either way, yours look very nice!
