Two questions:

Did you order the Boyds from Boyds, and was it recent, say in the last two months? Or did you get it from a Canadian recently? Or another dealer entirely?

Is the front iron sight, the front blade, is it below...or above the height of the protective "ears" ?

didn't get the hand guard , did on my reg length and didn't like the look, didn't like how slick it was in your hand, no grip, and it didn't dissipate the heat well

It's ironic that so many people buy an SKS and immediately swap out the wood for a plastic stock.

Now everyone is buying a M14 with a plastic stock, and swapping it out for wood.

If you replace the Norinco butt plate with a GI one along with the Boyds stock you will have a nine ounce lighter rifle than what the original weighed. The GI butt plate is available from Treeline.

Lovely. I wonder if the rubber recoil pads will fit these stocks. The screws are too short for the norc ones.

Then again, I've just gotten my gun shooting straight, so I'm afraid to piddle with it further!
