They'll get here just in time for me to justify buying another rifle. sorry guys, it's all about me and my suicidal credit card.

Patience, updated revisions are being made as we speak. Then we will see them green lit for production.

If you ask for an update by email be prepared to be totally ignored. Patience is waiting years with money down and being ignored. That is the definition of patience.

Better no promise then a broken promise. And CanAm doesn't require a deposit so it's not really money down. As long as it arrives some time, and the wife lets me buy more guns in the interim; what me worry!

I think it would be nice to hear any info on the pre-order. Even credible confirmation of when the production has ceased and shipment has been arranged. In this day and age you would think that people would be given shipping information when they send a container full of items. When i order an item off ebay i usually get acknowledgement and a tracking number. I guess thats a tall order in this situation.

Might as well buy the ones that are here if you want one.

I am seriously considering it, I am a very satisfied customer of CanAm, I just wish they would outline the improvements that they are having made to the rifle. Considering they were supposedly on there way around the same time the NSR was inbound. I would like to know if the improvements are going to make the DA t97 that much better than whats here already. If it will be a much improved rifle i can wait, It would just be nice to hear about these improvements and a more reliable estimate as to when we may see them. I understand the process takes time, but a little tid bit of info would sooth my ruffled feathers, If They went to or contacted the factory why couldn't they let the customers be privy to the list of improvements, or maybe even leak a picture of the rifle . I also understand shipping by boat is a huge logistical undertaking , doesnt the shipping company tell CanAm when they will have the merchandise on the boat and a ETA? I think it is going to be a cool rifle, and if one would guess the third party options are making it that much more attractive. Im begining to wonder if the guys making the very nice optics solutions, and potentially even nicer lower furniture, could start building the complete rifles. I would buy a Canadian made rifle like these in a heartbeat, and even pay Tavor or XCR or ACR prices. They sure seam to be getting the product prototyped, produced and to market very smartly !

I had really hoped CanAm can get the model with the threaded flash hider and bayonet mount to satisfy the military aficionado in me. Type 97A is used by Cambodian, Burmese, Pakistani, and Sri Lankan special forces. Not only that, the original Type 97 is confirmed by pictures being used by one Chinese PMCs, which makes the 97A being used by other security firms a solid possibility.

Anyhow, I understand the Canadian firearms owners who simply want the most functionality for their price regardless of the military heritage. Similarly, I wouldn't mind an upgraded 97 redesigned to appeal to the utilitarian side of me either. However, any changes CanAm can make to the rifle will always pale in comparison to the QBZ 97-1, which according to them, already exists but barred from export. The -1 variant has thumb safety, rail mounts on the front sight base, lower sight over bore, and improved ejection. It would be like making upgrades to the M16A1 when the M16A4 is already being made. Which makes me think, is CanAm trying to get the 97-1 in? Or will they retool the factory simply for an improved 97NSR? If then, why can't they retool the factory to incorporate the same improvements already done for the 97-1? Perhaps modify the 97-1 further to appeal to western shooters (which usually involves more rails than any shooter would ever need, only to be covered by rail covers)?

I've generally had good experiences with CanAm before, but it would be nice if CanAm can at the very least give us an update....

Already bought mine from Frontier Firearms. Ya it cost a little more but now I ACTUALLY HAVE ONE!!!
At this point, I'm just taking the piss out of CA.
They've been awesome on everything EXCEPT their T97 fiasco. They really sh!t the bed on this deal!

I pulled my pre-order when other dealers came out with it, but only because I decide not to buy one at all. After t97.ca and other accessories started coming in, I went back on the preorder list with Canam again. I'll still happily wait on their production, but it would be nice to know what is happening. I understand 'it's just another gun now', but I'm sure there are lots of people like me still hanging around wonder 'what's up'?
