Dominion arms tomahawk

I tend to agree, there isn't much practical use. There are better tools (axe) for processing wood for example. These things (tomahawks) are best for a) game processing, splitting rib cage and separating joints (both tasks can be done with a knife...but what the hell?) and b) just throwing around, f'ing around, and just a neat kind of 'thing' to have on hand.
I don't really understand the tactical breaching type tomahawks because I think they would be terrible against anything but tin sheet...clearly this type of hawk is marketed toward someone who has a different idea of "just a neat kind of 'thing' to have on hand" than I do is all?

Good bush tool...nope.
Good deployment door smasher...probably not. (or not as good as a 12lbs sledgehammer. I don't think a door or wall can be built that a 12lbs sledgehammer can't get through eventually?)
Cool...absolutely!:)

Apparently, tomahawks are popular with armed forces overseas for breaching and there are YouTube videos of people cutting through car doors and trunks and breaking padlocks. There was even an article online from the British press crying foul over the "battle axes" being carried by armed forces. A sledge would still be more effective, but much more heavy. Of course, I don't think any of these uses fall under the category of ..... practical lol.

Make side panels out of plastic like the AK Bakelite Mags for awesomeness.

Just curious, to each his own; but do you guys have a real practical use for tomahawks?

I've injured myself more with hatchet-type tools than anything else.

Good gift for;Dad,BIL,sons,me,put it in my bug out bag, learn to throw tomahawk, chop up salad, chop up bugs for the chickens, spread butter on my raisin toast, dispatch a deer I hit accidentally with my truck, home defense, bear defense, semaphoreing overhead planes, split kindling and thats just on Saturday! Many many practical uses! I cannot wait for Canam to bring these out, and think they would be a great seller.

Get yourself one of these:

And you do everything from chopping wood and filleting fish to carving your own bowls.

We can get tramontina machetes from the local importer. We used to carry them but they were a slow seller. Let me know and I can add some to the next order with them.

I can't imagine tramontinas not selling as a "get me to the $200 mark for free shipping" item. They're the machete version of a Mora.

Can we maybe do a poll to vote on what style is most wanted? The Spyderco in the opening post is nice but My vote would be for the Gerber style with the handle hole in the head that's posted above.

sure, let us know what design to copy, and if there are any improvements wanted.

Also, any inspiring knife designers, we are looking for designs for fixed blades

We are launching the dominion cutlery lines early next year

I like the looks and feel of m48 tomahawk, good balance and good length on the handle it weak spot is the composite handle , if you work it hard , it breaks
i would prefer a solid head design ,may be a little thicker but similar style .
Maybe 2 different , one with a pick end , and the other with a blunt hammer face like an axe.
