Dominion primers.... Lee loadmaster...

I wouldn't worry. I see only minor differences between the CCI and the Dominion primers in my loading and these have to do with small differences in cup hardness....not enough to worry about from a loading perspective.

This story is more of "Lee doesn't want you to use Federal". That advice in your Lee manual was from before Dominion primers were around, or at least popular, possibly because they are Chinese and not so popular in the USA? I don't know... but the call for CCI or Remington (or Winchester as well) was really to not have Lee call out Federal for soft primers that according to legend had a tendency to spontaneously go off causing a bunch of bangs and stuff like that.

Is any of it true? I have no idea, but that's the root of it all.

Ive used large rifle dominion in mine. Have pushed some primers into cases with small primer pockets pretty hard with no issues.

I have used a couple thousand SP in mine. I have noticed that the edges of the primers have a more rounded profile than the North American made primers resulting in a few sideways primers as they "tip" easier.

They are not Chinese

Richard Lee has had a falling-out with Federal at one time and hence the "avoid federal" advice.
They seem to have solved their differences since then.

Federal are more sensitive. I blew up my Lee Autoprime with it, by using Federals.

The wheels of my office chair fire the Federal primers on the floor when I run over them. Never set off a other brans that way.

i've used thousands in my pro1000's (small and large pistol) which i believe has a similar feed system, but i can't remember. Haven't had any issues with them.

Dominion primers were made by CIL in Canada. CIL was selling primers and other compoents before Lee was selling any tools. They were very good primers and should feed just fine in any tool that will feed a Winchester or Rem primer. They have been off the market for years so I don't believe anyone is going out to buy 100 to try. Someone has a cache of primers.

New Dominion primers are made by Murom in Russia. They are the same as the Wolf primers sold in the US. I think these are what the original poster was talking about, rather than old stock made by CIL decades ago.
