Dominion primers

Has anyone used the dominion primers from canada ammo? How did they work out? Thinking about the small pistol.

Haven't had a problem with about 500rds that I've fired so far, and that's with using Norinco 45 brass.

I bought an asortment: LP, SP, LR, SR. They all went bang. No issues.

SPP and LPP work fine and love the price! I also chrono them with 0 problem for my PF. Using Dillon 550.

Heard a rumor that the diameter of the dominion primers is slightly off which can cause problems using progressive presses. Specifically when used with primer tubes like on the dillon 550b. Can anyone confirm or deny?

They fit nicely in several different brands of rifle and pistol brass for me. Snug but not overly. If they are a different diameter I didn't notice it. I used a Lee hand priming tool.

I've been using LP and SP in my two Loadmasters (one set up for small primers & the other set up for large). Both have loaded fine. The LP may be a very tiny bit larger as I had to set my primer punch just a little deeper to fully seat them but the SP worked exactly like Winchester SP. No detonation problems at all. In fact a couple of friends & I just ordered another 20,000 SP. Ordering in multiples of 5000 drops the price by $2/1000 and over $200 worth gets free shipping. If you're outside BC you only pay GST (5%) which comes to $29.40/1000 all in which is about $10/1000 cheaper than anything else out there.

Almost 2000 through a Dillon 550 with no such issues.

I have recently used the SR & LR Dominion primers to load some .223 & 30-06 (have not fired them yet).

The .223 were reloaded with Hornady once-fired (by me) brass and everything went well with the brass that came from factory 55g rounds but when I switched to brass from factory 75g rounds, primer seating was problematic and a lot more pressure had to be used (and even then some didn't seem to even fully seat). Kinda strange. I did not measure the pockets.

The 30-06 were reloaded with Federal once-fired (by me or my son) brass and the primers went in extremely easily, almost to the point of wondering if they are tight enough. Now, I know Federal brass is claimed to be softer than others and I expect the primers to expand into the primer pocket on firing so I'm not overly concerned, but I'll find out when I shoot them.

I am glad to hear that others have had good success with them going bang as desired.
