Dominion Slugs- Opinions?

This ammo is reduced in power, in my Benelli M4, i had many that could not cycle the action, these loads could be great in my Tombstone... Will try them... JP.

I would very much like to see one cut open.
Too bad CanAm didn't do so when it has been requested on his sub forum...
It shouldn't be up to the client to waste a slug but,CanAm can post pictures of a target with holes in it...
This is coming from a guy that is very loyal for Canada Ammo's devotion to bringing in great products at amazing prices.

I'll try to get a cut open pic up this week. I did not see a request. I do not always read every thread in minute detail.

If people have specific requests, and expect a response, please email me directly.

It is a round ball sitting atop a plastic wad.

The goal of this project was to project a hunk of lead out the end of a shotgun barrel, at the lowest shipped price, that's pretty much it. I was able to reliably hit my 8" cabelas rubber ball target at 50m, so am more than happy with the result.

Run through a Remington 870 18.5" I fired off a box each of the slugs and buckshot. Recoils very softly and runs smoothly. I think the shells will be great for reloading too. Not much i can say about accuracy, i never really got the chance to properly zero this shotgun for slugs and i only had 8.5x11 sized targets with me that day.

Isn't there some type of plastic sabot supporting the ball while it goes down the barrel?

I was assuming that there was. I guess we need someone to cut one apart and see.

It needs to have something or it would spin , giving the curve-ball effect like the first black powder muzzle stuffers.

I personally thank you for this. Great practice/plinking ammo.

X2

Just for schits n giggles on the range. I ordered a case of slugs and a case of buck. Although CanPar has the package stalled in Calgary for over a week now, If it hasn't moved by Monday, I'm gonna have to get on the phone with these guys.

Has anyone shot these slugs yet, and how was it?

Accuracy?

Recoil?

How dirty? Any signs of corrosivenes?

Price is great, but this ammo is unknown around here.

lanis, I have shot ninety of these slugs today without single malfunction. ;)

Accuracy was good up to 50 yards, out of shotgun with rifle sights.

Recoil is very, very mild. Mildest recoiling slugs I have ever shot.

Fairly dirty, smoky and foul, sour smelling, but let's not get too picky here.

Absolutely no signs of corrosiveness.

And yes, price is great.
I would not trust these slugs to bring down the bear, but if you want to have fun at the range and save your shoulder from bruising, you got yourself a deal.

Why is this a bad thing? :)

I've had a box show up but haven't had a chance to fire them yet. I make comparisons by shooting into a wet bundle of newspaper and look at penetration next to regular conical slugs.
