Dominion small pistol primers

^^True.

Another thing is that these primers are 40$ only because canam had to get them shipped by plane instead of by boat. Future shipment, if they come by boat again, might very well cost less than 40$. So stocking up 10 years of supply might not be the best idea imho.

Just ordered 10K! LOL

Free shipping up here is a bonus. If I could get a better deal than $3.80/100 I would be all over it but I can't. I don't find any practical difference in the performance between one brand over another, frankly. The Donald or Putin....the difference is? I would buy US before Russian if the price were the same to me, beyond that on a political level one is about as bad as the other. That said I would rather buy from an American worker..politics aside.

Dominion primers have a harder cup than say CCI. May not fire reliably in all pistols.

I personally haven't found this to be true. My Dillon press tends to crush softer primers if I'm not seating them with care and Dominion primers are no harder than CCI, Winchester, and S&B. The only ones that are softer are Federal. Out of the 2000 Dominion I have used I haven't had a single misfire with a variety of different guns.

I've even noticed great accuracy when used in my 38 Spl light target loads.

No answer? You've asserted it's a better primer and now someone wants to know what makes it a better primer? Seems like a fair question, I know I'd like to know if there is an advantage for me to switching to the Fiocchi.

Nope, no answer.

It sounds like Dominion primers work well for you so I wouldn't change a thing.

So I'm guessing you "feel" they are better primers but can't offer anything to substantiate it based on the refusal to answer? Too bad, I was hoping to learn something and find that perhaps the Fiocchi were a better alternative. I'm not currently using Dominion as per my post earlier in this thread.

I've used around 15,000 of them and would have no issue using more. Given the current pricing though I'll likely use S&B as I can get them cheaper and I like the way they seat better than the Dominion on my SDB.

I have used Dominion SPP & LPP in six different designs in pistols and three different revolvers with no issues using 13# mainsprings. Over the chrono they provide identical results using identical loads within what you expect from one run of 10 rounds over another. (CZ, Tanfopglio, Ruger, Girsan, Beretta, Norinco and Uberti). I am not certain they have " harder cups. I am over 30K now.

CCI have a reputation of being harder than most American primers. Not sure how deserved that reputation is either. I think it may have to do with personal preference vs actual tested hardness.

Did you try them in magnum rounds? If so, how were your results? I'm looking for something suitable for H110/W296 in 357 and 44 magnum.

No I didn't I am sorry. For 296 I am not so sure I would want anything but a Magnum primer. I say that without having done any testing. My experience has been limited to 9MM, 38spl, 40 cal, 45acp and 45 Colt with the Dominion brand. Mostly 38spl and 9MM.

I used the small pistol in .357 mag and it seemed to work just as good as mag primers. I'm just going by the cleanliness of the powder burn, not chronied or anything.

Which powder? I've never tested H110/W296 with anything except magnum primers, but allegedly it's not a good idea. I don't think there would be any problem with something like titegroup though.

I just order 10k and have used Dominion in the past in my open gun and standard makeing 178pf. Tried them in 38spl but had the od misfire so back to Fed for pistol. Best price i have seen for Fed is $43/1000 but you have to p/u and haven't checked receantly for stock.

While this tread is active could someone tell me if these are corrosive. I am thinking of buying some to replace the Winchester Small Pistol primers I use on my 38SPL reloads for my 357 rifles. Never bought any Soviet made component before.

They are non-corrosive.

Got some large pistol primers in my order tonight. They're TulAmmo brand. I'm sure they're who produced the house brand for CanAm but i must admit I prefer the Dominion Ammo logoed box.
