Do they have piles of surplus in Aus left over from before the sks got banned or are the crates all in basements next to an sks?
Are you going to cut down the stock? Maybe drill some holes in it?
I had dies for my 7.62x39 CZ 527, saved around 60 brass from factory ammo and got some 150 grain hornady interlocks others on the board suggested using. Never tried any of it. My box of ppu soft points still has 5 rounds in it. Over 3000 rounds (probably way over now that I’m doing the math) of non corrosive bimetal and lacquer case ammo through the gun. Probably never use it for hunting again but if I did I’d spring for something better than norinco soft points

ha ha- Well if its any help, CGN most certainly convinced me I ... i mean, MySon, needed a bolt 7.62 anemic unethical deer cartridges too
It's either that or go to town on another SKS, this time trying to whittle it into a scout rifle of sorts.

when i dropped in last month an looked at a Ruger ranch for feel an fit, the bloke mentioned they had a bit of 7.62 ammo.... so depending on its price il certainly have something to bring home an get to know this little Cal a bit!!!

an the Rifle, its alot nicer than it looked online,,, oh an ther is plenty of Rifling in that bore ha ha!
when the rain chills, il go about setting up a Target - got 1 box of these.............. @ 39.95
So fair to say about $2 a pop - pending where i get with it maybe just grab a couple boxes of cheaper factory when i can find it, an then start sourcing Dies an such.

ive got a few 150g 311s here, hornady i think, an some 174 ppsn lol.
Box of S&b sayin almost 2480-2500 fps....... they go off, nice recoil, its more than the .222 for sure, but seems alot of wack for 200meters
i shot 2 in a group after playin with the scope once an realising its cooked, anyway long story short, it printed 2 very close together, but well off target.... so once the rain stops, testing to be done breifly.
if its a go-er, il swap scopes an proberly purchase 2-3 boxes of the ammo, keep the brass an thatll get us through the holidays with .222 plinking, some practise 7.62 an a hunt or two

Hodgon has load info for the 150 hornady but I never bothered
Maybe you can use the 174 grainers for Sambar
ha ha, Yeah so the reg.... is ".270 cal" an min "130grain" "projectile" .. for the big Sambars..... so im in with Sellor an Bellot 124gr...... cos its 130gr im sure..
but the 150 construction will likely be better for them,.. il test 124 on fallows this week id say
