Well Folks... After having picked up a beautiful brown Wenig laminated scope stock AND THEN finding a deal on a Boyd's M1A pepper laminated stock...

I found myself in a bind... I only had ONE M14S to re-stock... So, when in doubt, look to "others" for advice... Right???

So I fell for the standard "Hungry" line;
So what I'm gonna tell you is true also: Don't buy ONE! Buy TWO of them!

(Or your d1ck might fall off!!!)

As of just a few moments ago, I have a SECOND M14S on it's way to me... Jesus H Christ, that's 4 rifles in ONE WEEK!!! My wife is gonna make me pay for this one!!! ha ha ha

Hungry, now I have TWO M14S rifles to bed at the VKH/Hawkesbury clinic in March...

Rifle #1 is going to be the Wenig Brown Laminate scope stock, 3-9x40 Elite 3200, ARMS 18 base and rings...

Rifle #2 is going to be the Boyd's M1A Pepper Laminate, with garand rear sights, chopped down to 19 inches and a probably a VORTEX flash hider installed...

Thanks Hungry!!!

Cheers
Jay

DaveGP... I've bought 4 rifles in 1 week... I'm "outta control"... BWAHAHAHA!!!

Cheers
Jay
P.S. After 15 weeks up north, in and out of remote sites... Yes, I would have to agree!!!

you simply deserve it Jay hehehe, that's how i always rationalize it to myself anyways ;)

please post up dome pics of those soon to be beauties in the m1a.m14 photo thread once they are all done up and "Hungry-ized"
I also now have another M14S on the way (that makes #24 that i've bought hehehe ) and a full usgi parts kit to dress her up with. I think a fine laminate stock and handguard will go on my krieger DMR version and the new rifle once built will get shortened and dropped into my troy mcs chassis.

the addiction continues

so you mean...

Don't buy 1... buy 24! :eek::D

where did you get them from. I talk a shopown up here where I'm, he sold his last one just after holiday and wont have any till june, and are only coming in fibre stocks, and he's only getting 24 so they will go quick

hehehe there's that rumour again......... it would be wise to avoid the inflated pricing you will see over then next month or so on the ones guys bought to sell when the well ran dry........ I know it's just a rumour........ and i can say no more :D

most importantly, where to you get USGI parts from? I'm mainly thinking about an USGI bolt here...

I get most of my usgi parts via shady deals in dark back alley's with questionable characters :D :D :D

kidding aside..... i hunt em down and over the past couple years have made some good personal contacts and ended up with some very nice parts.
Importing from the U.S. is something i gave up on a long time ago. I buy whole parts kits from 12(3) rifles whenever they are offered to me.... which is once in a blue moon.

ACP...can you buy the op spring (USGI) from the States or is there another manufacturer you like and relatively inexpensive? Nice going...24 x M14's is like a 100 goal season in hockey LOL

There ARE deals to be had in the Equipment Exchange here on CGN... I got this latest one in the EE for $400 shipped... Very light use by a guy who was planning on using it for IPSC 3 gun and never did...

I'm looking forward to bedding both rifles in March with Hungry!!!

Cheers

i don't bother with trying to source usgi springs. I bought a few Wolfe M1A spring packs a couple years ago..... came with 1 each of every spring in the rifle. Wolfe springs arent hard to find... try brownells

Jay: We'll bed them both (I mean ; you will bed them and do all the work while I point with the 'finger of authority', just like harry_blackbeaver @ Barrie Gun Club M14 Clinic)

We are gonna have a good time!!

Barney

Jay: Just listen to what Hungry tells you......do not deviate from the instructions and everything will go very well. Of course you will need a steady hand and some type of dust mask as i found out after breathing in a good dose of fiberglass dust.....lol.....

i could not believe how easy it was, reading about it on the web is more confusing than anything.........and oh yeah, be expected to be the demonstrator as you will most likely have alot of Nutters watching you do it....( i even had one video tape the whole thing while i did it)

its all GOOD.........hope you have a blast!!!!!

cheers & beers

Just got my 2nd M14S in the mail. It's got a solid flash hider... Anyone have a spare original Norinco M14S slotted flash hider???

Soo pumped to have both rifles now! Everything is coming together for the M14 clinic in VKH... Gotta bed both of them with Hungry!!! (Just need my Boyd's laminate to show up!!!)
