Dont do it!!!!!!!!

The M1 Garand ejector spring is shorter and the ejector is different,in it dos not have one of the bevels that is found on the M14/M305 ejector.M305 uses a longer and heavy duty spring compared to the garand.
Look for these subtle differences when you take yours apart and you will see what I mean.

I just throw it in the ultra sonic cleaner and thats as far as I'm taking it down I know how miuch of a pain it can be so I won't do it unless I have to do it.
 
I've shot my Norc M305 to death for years now and I have never disassembled my bolt to pieces. I just dunk the whole thing in solvent, give it a good brush, dry, and lube internals with CLP.
 
Made the very same mistake when I first got my M305. Took 30 mins to find where the ejector spring landed, another 10 to find the ejector. Didn't have a spent .30-06 casing to push it all back together, so I used a 3/8in socket and a vice to put it all back together. And haven't been dumb enough to repeat my mistake haha
 
the ejector spring is shorter on a garand and will not fit on an m305.
the ejector is slightly larger on the m305 but a garand ejector will fit.
I just tried it.
So everthing in a garand bolt but the firing pin and the ejector spring will fit in an m305.
The actual ejector spring may need to be compressed slightly to fit the ejector pin snugly...

Sort of...
Send the spent case's to Hungry and get it close although if you want it bang on then you need to strip the bolt and get a good set of chamber gauge's and a set of shims.

You are correct the ejector will fit, but not correctly. The stud that fits in the spring is larger on an M305 than the stud on the garand. You could smash the M305 spring on the garand ejector,but then you would not be able to install the correct one that fits correctly later on.
I am not trying to argue but it is not a tight fit and it lacks the correct bevels found on the M305/M14 ejector.
You can try it on your rifle and let us know how it works out for you?

I will try it out.you just need to compress the end of the spring slightly so the pin kinda fits in.it's a bit mickey mouse but with the extractor plunger and smaller ejector the bolt does go together slightly easier...
