You guys have got it all wrong - the SKS collectors should be THANKING the guys who are messing up these pristine SKS rifles.
Look at the Enfield No4 MKI: 40-50 years ago they were everywhere and almost worthless. Then bubba started messing them up in large numbers and slowly as the amount of virgin rifles dropped, their value started coming up. The enfield collector of today wouldn't be a collector if there was still hundreds of thousands available at $15 each. They only became worth having when they started to get rare. Now they are treasured by collectors simply because there aren't many left.
So you can say that bubba-ing the enfield was what elevated it to desireable status from junk status. Collectors didn't do that - bubba did. You should thank Bubba and encourage him to screw up as many pristine rifles as possible. It makes the surviving rifles worth appreciating and raises them to collector status from junk status.
Thankyou Bubba, for your selfless efforts to make the SKS a valuable and appreciated rifle. God bless.![]()
Not everyone appreciates a rifle simply because of it's monetary value. Mindless vandalism is never a nice thing to see.
By definition it's not vandalism if he owns it. My earlier post was meant as sarcasm btw.![]()
The OP only started this thread to coax a negative reaction for his own enjoyment. He got the reaction he wanted, but he paid for it. The value of his rifle dropped by 50% or more when he sanded the stock, so in effect the OP has fined himself $100 for stupidity. When you look at it that way, it's actually hilarious.![]()
You could have sold the nonreferb and made $, bought a junker sks instead of doing what you're doing (killing). Now all you have to do is paint it black, throw a scope on it, and cut the butt stock off and put a folding stock on.Agree with you for the most part but would assume OP has no intention of selling therefore he's increasing the usability value for himself.

Hell yeah we're all entitled to a good time on the forum.
