I miss my g19, and Its awesome fit, So I'm trying to make my 17 feel as close to 19 as I can

Just finished undercuts, remove finger grooves, squashed and heated the backstrap hump and stipple, not sure if I should stipple all the way up in thumb groove???. THe undercut was a must, I cant believe how much better it feels, and no back hump made it feel narrower almost like my g19!! What I dont get is how the 19 fits me so good with the back hump?? I wear medium mechanix gloves for reference

This for the undercut and all other grinding. Dont know what grit this is, doesnt say, but my guess is 80, its very course. THen with paper 200, 400. Be careful with 200, it takes off alot quickly! Wouldnt have thought that. I over did it a little on the ext mag release., wanted to round it some. I have 600, but kinda like the "stickier" feel of 400

Just took some courage thats for sure. I wish I did this 10 years ago. Also the fact we can get serialized polymer80 if I really effed it up

I pretty much copied this guy,

Thanks, Its getting there. I'll stipple the thumb rest area and do a support hand thumb shelf. Sort of like this with more of a relief cut/shelf. The second undercut I did doesnt seem to help much here dry firing, need range time.

I love how glock is considered ugly. Dirtier/uglier the better, it's a fighting tool. I would never spend alot of money souping a glock, their supposed to be cheap workhorses. Thats why I did myself, if you eff up they're cheap(used) Having a poly frame allows you to make it fit you (relatively), which I just found out how easy it is. I just made a gen 3 frame a 5/2/1 lol. I'm lucky I shoot glock better i guess, or embrace it and train

Regards to stippling, when It was sanded to 200 grit it was great! I can see why James Yaeger thinks its dumb if you appendix carry. I went with a non aggressive ish stipple point, it still to aggressive on stomach skin

Actually I think this was straight from the dremel sanding drum, It felt great this way

What did you do to remove the rear hump? I know some fill the hump with epoxy resin then grind it down.

No grinding at all at first, heat and squash.. rolling and pressing it on a 2X4. It built up on one side, I should have went right to left rolling action, then alternate left to right, which I thought I did, but I still had an excess lump on one side I sanded. I should have did it like this exactly

I did more like this on my kitchen gas stove, no angle grinder or goats in background.. I did notice mags sticking, keep a mag moving in and out during and while cooling. All mags drop free now, I did get freaked out with that for sure. AFter all this i do think the back strap is stronger with more plastic being pushed/concentrated in. I cant express enough how much better the grip feels now

Fortunately for me, the Glock grip shape/size feels just right, but you’ve done a great job on this heater. I wouldn’t mind a stippled grip like that.

Thanks, but to be honest I'm not sure if i'd stipple again. It felt so good/###y, tacky and smooth at 200 grit, it just looked horrible! The frame mods by far made the biggest difference for me

Except if you want a stipple job that has nice aesthetics as well as function, you should pay someone who knows what they're doing..
