Many, many years ago I was able to convince the local police department to participate in a club shotgun/pistol match.
One stage had a brand new police car parked on the range such that the shooters were required to shoot around the vehicle.
Light bars were on during the stage but time has dulled the memory as to the use of its siren..
Target positioning was such that the front of the car remained intact. Rear trunk/bumper suffered significant powder scorching when a couple of participants didn't lean far enough from the vehicle when engaging near targets. Single ported shotgun was used by everyone to shoot the stage.
Trunk lid buffed out with some sort of miracle cloth provided to the police by a participant - powder burns on plastic bumper did not.
Not sure how the attending officers explained the damage to the new vehicle when they returned it to the compound......
