Is the trigger guard serialized? Any of your czech guns have the later milled bottom metal with machining marks and "d" marking in lieu of s/n?

This gun? The triggerguard is e/214 and seriallized. The floorplate is e/135 and serialized. Fits in with all others in the stamped parts of late 43 and 44 dou rifles.

My dou44 is the same.

I'm always curious b/c at some point the czech makers stopped serializing certain parts. You sometimes see "1" or "4" proofed parts supplied by Mauser with no s/n, and sometimes on very late czech 98's you see milled bottom metal with a lot of machining marks left (not polished) and no serial number. Usually they have a "d" proof where the serial number would go. Supposedly these were made b/c Mauser stopped shipping stamped bottom metal to Czechoslovakia at some point, probably when allied air power made materiel difficult.

As an aside, I have an RC BNZ43 with a very late war czech made bottom metal on it.

dou made K98k rifles bear no stock proofing or markings at all. Full serial with letter suffix inside on stock and handguard. Also they are slightly over sized, very noticeable at the wrist.

I noticed it was a little oversized, looked a little strange at first but couldn't quite figure out what it was about the stock. I don't think I've ever held this wider stock, very cool.

Glad you found this one in Canada!

Definitely possible they started using a subcontracted letter marked trigger guard, but likely in 45 or maybe a late late 44.
