What options are out there for a double action 22LR revolver? I'd strongly prefer a stainless model.

I have no interest in a Taurus.

I'm aware of the S&W 617. I believe it's built on their medium frame. I like that fact because I feel it would fit my hand better. Can anyone out there give me some feedback on the 617?

Those are the only 2 I can seem to find.

Currently my go to rimfire pistol is a Stainless Ruger MkII Target Competition. It's a nice piece but I'm thinking I may want to switch to a wheel gun, if I can find something to macth the Ruger's quality.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Dan Wesson made one. I am not sure if the Colts were stainless or not. The Ruger MKIII is an excellent choise as is the S&W 617. I beleive Browming makes a stainless Buckmark as well and I know S&W made a stainless auto as well.

Ruger is supposed to be coming out with a SP101 4.3" barrel, 8 shot soon. There's a thread on it somewhere in the rimfire forum.

Now that sounds interesting!

EDIT: I actually have the Guns and Ammo magazine that mentions the new SP101. I guess I just wasn't expecting them to be in Canada any time soon. I'm also concerned with the frame size. I find the Ruger Single Six to be a little small for my hand.

And there is also the S&W Model 63.

This is my Smith & Wesson Model 63 revolver. It has a 5" barrel, 8-shot capacity, and shoots 22 lr. It fits my small hands perfectly since it is a J frame. I love this revolver!!

It's an awesome gun. I'm shooting the cub's S&W617s and they are really accurate shooters. A bit pricey-ish (but as long as I can shoot them for free, why even think of buying one?)

I think the frame of the model 63 would be too small for my liking. Plus I hate the half lug, I'm fussy lol. Considering my budget VS my preference for a larger frame I'm probably better off sticking with my MkII.

I have a single action German made 22LR. I like it because it's built on a large frame as opposed to a smaller 22LR only frame. However it's more of a beater than anything.

It looks like Ellwood Epps has a whole bunch of them for $449.

Sadly 6 shots only. Was going to grab one when they first appeared, but for six shots, I'll stick with my 17 thanks.
