Double action revolvers - Colt Or Smith Why?

My father was a police officer and he swore by Colts. His son (me), on the other hand, has always liked S&W revolvers better. I guess you get stuck in a rut by what you like. I do have one Colt revolver and I have owned others; they were all good handguns. Regards, Richard :D

Both are excellent, although S&W has produced a much greater variety of double action revolvers over the years than COot, so there's a lot more to choose from. On the other hand, some Colt revolvers (i.e. Python) are truly works of art and desirable as collector pieces.

If you want the ###iest revolver, get a Python.

If you want to hammer nails with your revolver, get a Ruger.

If you want the best DA revolver, get a Smith.

99% of PPC shooters can't be wrong.

mostly right, but ###y is in the eye of the lusting party. It would really have to be an early high gloss blue m-29 a la Harry Callahan for me....colt's don't register on the meter.....

Smith, because the cylinder rotates IN to lock - Colts rotate away from lock. This makes a difference in 5-10 thousand rounds.
