Double action revolvers - Colt Or Smith Why?

I have both as well as Rugers and Taurus revolvers. I prefer older S&W models as the DA trigger just seems right to me.

Try an old S serial N frame once as it'll compare well to Python's in SA and I've owned them too.

I've been buying revolvers for years looking for the perfect one. I hope I never find it as this is too much fun.:)

Never quite figured out the python hype myself, yeah, they're nice but not really any smoother then a older Smith, and to expensive to boot. Colt had to hand build to get what Smith was making on the assembly line.......

Okay here is my two cents..

I own both a Ruger GP 100 in stainless with a 6 inch barrel .. i also own a S&W 686 in stainless with a 2 1/2 inch barrel ... they are both tack drivers they are both what each company refers to as their .. " combat magnum" here is the thing .. the top strap is twice as thick on the Ruger as it is on the Smith .. what i like about the Ruger is .. if you run outa bullets you can sneak up and beat your enemy to death with the gun and steal his rounds and the gun will still work .. I also like the safety feature of the transfer bar so it only goes bang with pressure on the trigger. I'm not a real big fan of the exposed firing pin on the Smith..

Course when you bring a chic to the range to introduce her to shooting .. the little silver smith will elicit pantie puddles every time.

and Taurus; mine (Raging bull) has been very accurate, has a nice finish and looks great. And not overpriced :)

True, as long as they don't break, because he'll have a hard time getting replacement parts due to POOR customer service from Taurus (both Brasil and USA). That's the only reason I wouldn't recommend a Taurus. Aside that, they're quite nice guns.

I can't afford the colt mystique, my S&W 686 will do everything I need reliably every time at +30 or -30. Colt's blueing is nice but like driving a Hummer, its only for show, nice but not worth the xtra bucks for me,: and my wife could never park a Hummer whereas my little 686 fits her holster quite snugly!!! :dancingbanana:
