I'm happy to always view in the case as I put the bullet on. I want to see the same level each cartridge. Any jamming, or irregularity, I stop, and clear everything (dumping the unseated carts, then ramp up again. Fortunately never an incident.

The powder bar will not reset unless the ram has lowered enough to automatically index the shell plate. This is an obvious built in safety feature. If this isn't the case with your press, it's maybe not set up correctly?

Actually both you and Ipscgraz are right in a sense. The older 650's that still use the "return assist spring" on the powder bar can return as soon as the case starts to be pulled from the powder die expander. By the time the case is clear of the expander, the powder bar is back to the "fill" position. They have the same return bar but not the same mechanism on the powder measure, the bar is free to retract without being pulled down. The newer 650's all have the mechanical system that requires the rod to be retracted at the same time as the shell plate rotates. The powder bar isn't filled again until the plate has rotated.
