Well I just picked this up today. A unfired, undesignated SKS that I haven't seen before. Still in the box from SIR. Wood is oiled not shellaced and it has the removable bayo set up that slips right off. Serial code is sks 7.62 X39MM. Nothing else. No D or M or NR stamps. Came with the manual titled "sports sks semi auto sporting rifle" and the pictures show a 30 rnd mag and how to change them.Total Virgin

Any ideas? Cheers

No its an antique. Made for export in 1987-88 I've learned from the us sks forum. Down there the similar unit is import marked with the name BETA. Gun show find, cost....priceless. But for you....expensive. LOL. Cheers

hey P , sweet pair .

check the barrel for import markings . the top one looks like a M for the US cos the bayo was removed .

The top one says D on the receiver and has no groove for the bayo and the lug is different. The bottom one has a removeable bayo with a different set up than the regular SKS and no marks on receiver
