I have to wonder about the ports for home defence in the dark. Presumably there is a youtube video somewhere.

The disadvantage of the O/U compared to a SXS is that when used under stress is that the O/U must open wider to eject and reload. This might not seem like a big deal until you're actually faced with it. This disadvantage is offset by what feels like a slimmer gun, as the barrels are centered under the sighting plain rather than on either side of it.
Maverick has had the hs-12 out for a long time already.
Believe it or not, its extremely handy. It breaks down into 3 pieces no longer than 19" in about 5 seconds for transport, takes chokes, is quite light and handy. Lines are alot cleaner as well without all those rails up front.

yup I have shot one of these and they are a joy to shoot. relatively light, fiber optic front sight, easy fast takedown.
its a good bush gun, a guy on my crew uses it every day, and has warded off a bear or two with it.
I am very fond of mine as well.
It's actually alot more convenient and useful than most people give it credit for at first sight. Makes a great grouse gun as well.

wouldn't a pump action be light years better than an O/U? A short barreled pump is compact, convienent, good in close quarters and has greater shell capacity. Plus it makes a scary sound when you chamber a shell.

boomboom is faster than boom chick chick boom.
a large mag cap is not needed for well really anything in practical uses unless you are a bad shot or there are a billion zombies coming.
plus for over unders you can get those fast reload shell holders, I hear they are real fast to reload with.
