Double feed in SKS kills operator

Good thing to keep in mind. I always try to drop my mags down enough to avoid stripping another rd and jamming everything up, but this puts a much more important reason behind it. I'll make sure to keep this in mind when I'm out with my mag feds.

Thanks for the post, and more importantly, my condolences to the family.

under normal situation , a round do not hit the center of the round in the chamber , more like to the bottom left of the rim , thats what a feeding ramp is for to guide it in . but this is a normal situation .

he had #### the carrier and may have partially unseated the round or the after market metal duckbill mag had a faulty feeding lips . thats why i do not like using them , if you have not mod the bolt and have forgotten to hold back the carrier and try to load a mag (thats is so easy to forget cos its not normal to hold the carrier open while trying to put a mag in) , you are going to bend the lips, once that happens you are gonna have nothing but problems with feeding .

i had more success with the vinyl ones cos they are flexiable .

From the TheFirearmblog's article:
Travis, an attorney, is suing Norinco and the importer of a Norinco SKS after a person was killed while operating one.

The scenario was as follows. A chambered round failed to fired. The user pulled back the bolt but the round failed to ejected. The user then dropped the rifle to the side of their body in order to inspect the action. The detachable 30 round magazine had not been removed and the bolt was let go. The second round slammed into and ignited the primer causing the chambered round’s casing to explode. It sent the bullet down range and a piece of the casing into the users stomach, causing death.

I think that source is right.

Looks like fearmongering against a company
Smells like fearmongering against a company
Oh GEE! It IS fearmongering against a company!

The whole article is written in a passive creative voice. That should be enough to tell you it’s a fairy tale. Social Psychology wins again. Trolls detected? On teh INTERNETS?

Condolances to the family,:( it was bound to happen sooner or later with this type of "firearm".
Another reminder of why to never have one of these sub quality guns.

It's pretty sad that you would use the alleged death of a person to make yet another ill educated comment about this type of firearm, real classy...
