double in contrast to single action

I have made decision to buy revolver rather than pistol due to comfortabilty and accuracy for my shooting; I researched and tried some. I now am wanting feedback on double to single action, I am reading that single action triggers are best. is this true? the are easiest to pull and most responsive?

I only shot double action with hammer cocked and had hair trigger but never tried uncocked shots.......so i could do that but i cant rent a single action at wild west i dont think...only double....so i am at loss as to what to buy and try...i like gp100 ruger is a beauty....but love notalgic cowboy action to but unsure how practical the forearm single action is
 
id say go double action gives you the choice to shoot in double or single, i usually shoot single but double action has its uses as well.

When properly done by competent smith, there is no difference in feeling when shooting SA revolver or DA revolver in single action. If you are thinking of getting single action revolver, I would stick with Ruger for many reasons. However, before buying one I would definitely suggest trying few different styles like BH, Flattop or SBH, and do not overlook Bisley. For some hard core cowboy folks Bisley is not traditional enough but if you are new to SA revolver you might like it more than any other revolver. Especially if you want it in 44 Magnum and want to shoot occasionally full power loads. When I was looking for SA revolver I tried bunch of them, including Freedom Arms and very rare TLA #5. Any way I sliced it, Bisley grip/hammer/trigger were the best for me and I ended up getting 3 Bisley revolvers; two in 45 and 41. And after I rounded grip edge just behind trigger guard, felt even better.
 
I prefer my single action 1873 to my colt new service double action, but I truly believe it has more to do with the grips than any function of the firearm. Either way you can't lose.

I am wanting more words on the difference of trigger action between SA and DA.....i did read the one that said if gunsmithed right the DA should shoot the same as SA...is this correct?
 
A competent gunsmith can make all the difference in a DA but since all the new laws it is harder to find one, alot have given up it up. Unless you know one I would still go single action but I'm a traditionalist.
 
For target shooting, range officers and some shooters despise single actions because it is hard to see that the firearm is unloaded and reloading slows down the shooting line. I would only buy one if I was into cowboy action, but whatever floats your boat.
 
Since you don't think you will be shooting double action, I would simply pick whichever type looks and feels best to you,of course if you are going to shoot cowboy action the Vaquero is the bees knees.
 
If you are going to shoot cowboy, you have to go single action, e.g. Ruger.

If not, then a double action with a swing out cyinder is much easier to laod and unload.

Either model can be tuned for a light crisp single action release.
