I know that Wolverine Supplies and Canadian Shooting Center sell double rifles, does anyone know who else sells double rifles in Canada?

Are you looking for Baikals ?
Then any small gun store would be able to bring one in from a Canadian warehouse that deals in Baikal.
Something more exotic then contact Prophet river or I-run guns to import from outside of Canada and be ready to pay dearly for the exotics.
Italian Sporting goods carry high end Beretta, Benelli and other brands as Reliable Gun is another choice along with Martini Gun makers in BC will have a selection of Fine doubles for you to pine for ...possibly.
You didnt specify what your game of choice is hence the higher end of the scale.
Bilizor in Alberta can also provide a selection of fine double rifles as well.
How deep down this rabbit hole do you wish to search ?

I'll be in the market as early as July to purchase a double. I should specify exactly what I'm searching for. Double SXS, self regulated (I'll regulate the barrel(s), standard cartridges, 8x57, 30-06, 30R Blaser, no magnums. I've narrowed it down to only two rifles, Chapuis Classic X4 and Merkel 141. I cannot find any othr makes of double rifle with self regulating barrel(s). Thanks!

I recently bought a chapuis ugex in .30-06 from Clay. Beautiful rifle and shoots great. Had it regulated for the barnes 180 ttsx.

Very nice to hear, they are a beautiful rifle and I may also get one in the 30-06, however leaning towards the real old cartridge, 8x57 Rimmed (est. 1888). It will be my spot and stalk spring bear rifle.

As mentioned Prophet River deals on Rizzini and Chapuis. Calgary Shooting Center sells Chapuis and Krieghoff. If you want an O/U The Shooting Edge caries Fabarm. Ralph Martini is a dealer for Heym and Krieghoff (but Heym currently has a 3-4 yr delivery time and has paused making small calibres as they are over run with orders for big bores apparently.

If you want an 8x57r I do think the Chapuis would be a good option, they have a good variety of options as well.

From my personal experience the used market can have some great deals. Also importing used rifles from Europe isn’t difficult and can be worthwhile even after factoring in shipping and duties.

I second the used market. I’ve bought several doubles used, for half what they sold for new and in one case far, far less than that.

Haven’t had a double that hasn’t payed me to own it, that’s pretty lovely in this hobby. Long as you buy wisely and are prepared to sell one day, they’re generally free to own.

I'm resurrecting this thread for any new information on doubles. I can purchse one of three which I located in Canada and several in France, however, just-in-case someone knows of new listings, please let me know. Thanks!

There's a Merkel in 470NE on the EE right now.

In terms of retailers that carry doubles.

1. Prophet River
2. Calgary Shooting Centre
3. Wolverine Supplies
4. Ellwood Epps
5. Ralf Martinis

I'm also on the hunt for a double rifle, ideally a Krieghoffs or Heym in 470NE.

I purchased my double rifle from Wolverine Supplies this past August; I guess I should of updated my thread. I purchased the Merkel 141 deluxe, chambered in the 9.3x74R. The model 141 is a self regulated double, which I throughly enjoyed performing. I reloaded 250 grain Nosler Accubond which shot 1.5" at 100 yards, 3 shots from each barrel, 6 shot in total. At 200 yards I grouped around the 2.5", six shots.
As mention in you're thread, I killed my bull moose with that double at 125 yards, while he was trotting broadside from me. If I would of known that this years whitetail buck would of been only 75 yards away, I would of used the double. However, I was more than prepared with my 270 Winchester.
My son also connected on his 161 B&C whitetail buck, the same evening as I.

Congrats. Was it second hand or a new rifle? I see they have a pair of used Merkel's right now. I'm considering the 160AE.
