Double torch, one propane tank

I have a double torch setup, T valve on the propane tank & 2 torches on a homemade rotory annealing machine and Banchmade annealer. The Benzo torches i believe have regulators built in to control the gas. No issues hooking up directly via b BBQ hoses.

Dang, do you have a new style tank. Acme style.

Expatriot, thanks so much for the reply and pics!!!!! It has to be my tank or the T fitting. I have a neighbours tank to try in the am, narrow it down some. I see you have the very newest tank as well.

The new tank does not work either, actually it's slightly worse. One side won't even light. Looks like the T fitting must be the problem, too restrictive with its intended use for bbq's and such I guess. I will look for a propane type store for a real T, then return the unused items that I bought. Ridiculous

The problem is. All the propane fittings have very small offices in them.
Because of this they are easy to get plugged.
Narrow down which fitting it is and replace it.

Went to Green Line and ordered everything, should have it in a few days. I had to go to one other place for the torch to hose adapters however. Now will have to return the other useless parts back to Canadian tire.

Are you opening the tank valve with the torch valves open or closed? The new style tanks (compared to 20+ years ago) have a flow limiting valve that requires back pressurewhen you open the tank valve to allow full flow. If the torch valves are open, you likely wouldn't get the proper back pressure to allow full flow.

I did every possible combination, besides trying it with my clothes off.

Some propane tanks have a safety valve that requires the attachments be screwed and fully seated into the tank valve to allow the safety valve to open. I have to pretty much put a lot of effort to tightening the bloody thing in or the gas will not flow. I purchased a T valve from the local Army and Navy made by Woods company IIRC.

Soooo I put all my new hoses together, and I cant get any propane to come out to even smell any. Good grief. I am borrowing a friends tiger torch to see if it will run, it does have a regulator.

If one side lights and the other doesn't then probably your tank is OK. Check the hoses themselves. Sometimes when they swage the fitting on to the hose the hose inner membrane doesn't slide over the brass spear and balls up, causing restricted flow or plugging. Had that happen a couple times.
