Doubled my SKS collection today

Got a 54 and 55 Tula, don't see a refurb mark or ###X'ed out serial number on either of them. Will post pics once I finish cleaning them up.

For anybody that's looking, JoBrook has about 10 more, 54/55 Tulas, all dark hardwood stocks, I only saw 2 obvious refurbs but they were still nice rifles.

1954:

No refurb marks on receiver

Both have this series of stamps in the same place - left side of stock

Dark hardwood stocks on both, only marks are rubs from sitting in the crate

1955:
No star on stock, just serial number

It does have the star on the receiver - early 55?

Nice score on the 1955! Are they the new style of plugging that does not #### up the serial number on the bottom of the magazine?

Yep, you can read the SN# just fine. Too bad they have to be pinned at all though...

nice rifles but sorry to tell u this, both rifles are refurbished due to the parallelogram stamp on the side, that stamp means it has been refurbished, show more pictures of the bolt and the bolt carrier, the ###### means the stock is matched to the receiver, I’m not an expert but just did some research

The stamps on the stock are not the plain diamond or diamond with a slash through it that typical refurb marks. I think they are more like inspection stamps. My other 2 rifles are definite refurbs and there is evidence of it on the metal work and stocks, in more than one place. There are no ###X on either stock and no marks on the metal work anywhere.

Sorry to tell you that you are incorrect about the stamps on the side of the stock. Those are inspection stamps, from the factory. You are correct however, about not being an expert

I can put up more pics once they're fully cleaned, all they've had is a wipe off. But there are no refurb marks on the bolts if that's what you're looking for.
