Ive seen many "unique" operations done on a knee mill (Bridgeport), everything from gun drilling to jig boring. What you would need is thru coolant. pushing a rifle button can be done very cheap.
got a mill, lathe, 20T press, welder, and more basic tools. I am confident that I could make a button rifled barrel up to about 16" if I needed to
my machines are all small machines, or big hobby sized machines (craftex mill, king lathe) so I sometimes have to worry about work space issues on the beds.
deep hole drilling is potentially possible and I would need to hook up the coolant system, right now I use a coolant mist system but have the parts to build a coolant flush system.
