Downrange DR 16 Wads

Think you can forget about them in Canada. I have always bought all my 28ga and 410 downrange wads from Recobs Target shop in Prairie du Sac,Wi Up until 2 years ago they still shipped wads to canada and it was legal to do so.
They have the sick color green 16ga ones also. Look them up on the internet and give them a call
The shipping is always high so I buy batches of 5000 to make it worthwhile Not sure if you need that many for a 16ga

I use unique for all my 16ga loads. What make of gun is it . I know you said 1938?? it is 2 3/4 chamber correct
I have never taken any reloading components across the border by hand but I am sure if they can be legally shipped it would not be a problem but I would call and ask. It is the US side selling them to you would be the concern not the canadian side I would think
This particular shotgun is an Eatons of Canada side-by-side chambered in 16 gauge. Based on the proof marks, it was manufactured in Belgium in 1938. And yes, it has a 2-3/4" chamber.
I know all sorts of people who do it, but that doesn't mean its legal. I guess I will have to look it up. I'd actually think that it would be the US side with the problem because of ITAR. Maybe that just relates to primers, powder and loaded shells?

Looks like Recobs can get them to me but shipping is via USPS only. I don't know that I could ever use a case worth. I shoot this gun for fun, 99% of the time I shoot my SX3. I was looking at the DR wads because they seem to be pretty low pressure loads.
usps only is what you want that is the cheapest option
Just buy what you need I think they sell bags of 250 and 1000. I only buy 5000 to save as much as I can and use them up in a year normally two max
Yeah, USPS is probably going to be very cheap. It depends on what they can get in a box. I was thinking of just buying 1 or 2 bags so I asked for a shipping quote for 1000-2000 units. That would be a few years worth I'd think.

What about just buying low pressure loads and forget reloading if you are only going to fire a few from it

Thought so being 2 3/4" You are right it will be ok with modern lead loads BUT if you are not comfortable time to dig into the old reloading manuals to see what lower pressure loads are there. All my books are buried in a tote somewhere I will see if I can find any for federal hulls
Yup. It is 2-3/4" and I have both Federal and Remington hulls available. I'd like to be shooting 3/4 or 7/8 oz loads which is one thing that attracted me to the DR-16. It also seemed to have the lowest pressures of the loads in the spreadsheet.
I have been shooting modern Remington Game Loads in #8 at the sporting clays field the few times I've had this out. The recoil on them is pretty rough, though I bet that improves once I put a deceleration pad on the stock.

Thanks! Well, it just looks like such a good compromise on all fronts. Honestly, I would prefer something using a WAA16 clone wad as those are easier to acquire but it looks like I won't find much savings in pressure there. I'm going to see if I can get some DR-16 imported I guess.
