I shipped Julian Bourgeois @ Downrange Precision in Gunn Alberta, a couple of my rifles in February for cerakoting, he informed me in March/April he would not be able to do them because of some family health problems that took priority in his life over his gunsmithing. I can appreciate that, no problem. Well I waited until late July to bother him for an answer as to when he could ship them. Early August he texted me back and said he would ship them as soon as he can, he was out of town. September 30th I texted and asked if any friend or family member could ship my rifles, he got back to me Oct3 and said his wife was able to ship them Oct7

Well now it's Nov1 and I still haven't heard anything or seen my rifles come back. I was wondering if anybody knew Julien and lived close by maybe could help me out. PM me thank you

Might be time to let him know that you are considering calling the RCMP to get your property back. I had to do this once when a dealer did not ship a rifle I paid for always giving creative excuses but the threat of police invlovement magically caused the rifle to be shipped.

Unfortunately this scenario is not surprising from this gunsmith. Nothing good to say from personal experience.

I have had good work done by him though as mentioned time lines aren't always accurate - more so in the last couple of years. The first few jobs I had him do were done in the time promised. There are some serious medical issues in his family that he has to deal with and he was away for quite a bit fighting that big fire in Fort McMurray this past year. Resources from all over the province were sent there. He has backed away from full time gunsmithing (that I am aware of any way) and working another job that offers benefits. He still does some gunsmith work. Knowing his issues I can give him a break, life sucks sometimes, but I do understand that if he takes on a job he should get it done in as good a time frame as possible.

absolutely, I can give him a break too. I just want my rifles back

He emailed me Tuesday and said they're boxed up and tracking # to come the next day. Haven't heard back from him

You think that's bad I left a Browning Leaver 22 at my local gunsmith in 1999, I pestered him for years to return it.
I finally got it back in September.
It came from a friend who knew about it and was at the smiths house helping clean it out with the old guy, who developed dementia.
I guess he had it long enough that he remembered it.
