DPMS AP4 Mil/LE bringback? or New Norc M4 for same$$?

Hi guys,

A quick question for those that have much more experience than myself. I am looking for my first AR. What would you choose: A DPMS AP4 Mil/LE bringback? or a brand new Norc 14.5" M4?

Looking to spend around $600. Which would you choose and why?

I am thinking that same as you two fellas. Seems like a good price. Just have to see how worn the interior parts are. Don't really care too much about the exterior looks as long as the guts and barrel are good cond

I saw that ad, looks like a good buy and for what its worth the last time ome of those surplus ar's came up it didnt last long.
 
Thanks for responses fellas. I went with the DPMS. Really looking forward to getting my hands on it. Any advice from DPMS owners? maintenance, specific issues, things to look out for, etc? Any info would be appreciated.

These rifles were pretty high end for DPMS. It had a lot of their better quality stuff inside. No issues with mine, barrel and BCG looked almost new.

How much did the DPMS work out to with the exchange rate, shipping and eall the rest of it? Last summer was probably the best time to buy ARs, those times will be missed.
 
I just ordered cq556 from Marstar for 529.99. Its gonna be my first AR and I was hesitant about it being a norc but I have norc 1911 and it does the job so I got this to try out and if I like the whole AR experience I might invest into ruger or dd later down the line
 
DPMS for sure! Norc Works, i used to own 2 Norc but my bushmaster and DPMS is way way better, fit finish and smoothness of action and trigger. not to mention Real Mil or commercial,, Norc is a in between spec haha especially for the front hand guards!

I bought it here on EE for $645 shipped with one mag. It was a military contractor bring back from Afghanistan. IRG imported them last summer and was offering them for $499USD.

I was about to do the exact same thing until I saw the DPMS on EE. I too have a norc 1911 and it runs like a champ. Let me know how the 556 runs!
 
I just scored a dpms bring back as well! Can't wait to get my hands on it! Just the fact that it was in Afghanistan is good enough for me, the scars only add to its story. I'd buy another if I could find one. The gentleman that sold me his said it shoots 2" groups at 100M.
