I gave up trying on that... today I heard on the local news in Calgary "..... and a 22 caliber assault rifle was found in the home...."

I shook my head

22 caliber assault rifle with hundreds of rounds loaded. Complementary picture of Ruger Sr 22 with 110 Rd drum mag lol

its not just nit picking, an assault rifle has a proper definition, intermediate caliber, select fire. i thought people in the gun community would be past calling them assault rifles but i guess not

Ya like we all have "tactical" needs. Geez. I guess it appeals to a certain personality type. Back in the day we were encouraged to refer to our firearms as "recreational firearms".

Great deal. You guys whining about big scary assault rifles need to take a break. Stop giving in.

No they don't, because the people who want to permanently remove all those big scary assault rifles you speak of aren't taking a break.

Really it's people like the ones you speak of that will allow you (and the rest of us) to maintain our sport/hobby... of shooting firearms not assault rifles hopefully forever.
